6. North Dakota St.-Delaware St: NDSU beat a Division I team once so they gave them a Gameday host

You can turn just about anything into some type of promotion. "4-year old football program immediately takes on the strongest conference in the NCAA". Boom you have a story that ESPN can over exaggerate like they do everything else. The media can make a story out of anything to you sheep.

NDSU won two consecutive FCS National Championships prior and went on to win a third consecutive.

You're exactly right! The media can turn a lot into stories. Unfortunately, they can't turn this into a story. There's nothing noteworthy. What, are they going to tout that a new FBS program is winning a couple games here and there?

Literally no one gives a shite about that except for people from Fargo. Hell I bet half of the Delaware St. student body aren't even aware they have a football team

If it wasn't for the Bama game, LSU wouldn't have a gameday this year

Based of their logic, they might land the LSU vs New Mexico St. game because on September 27th, 1928 the Republic of China was recognized by the United States

Cap, you are trying way too hard.

You make a prediction thread, then get pissy when people disagree.

NDSU reaches a wider audience than South Alabama. It reaches both Dakotas, and some other sparsely populated Midwest states...but two FCS titles speaks alot to those people. The crowd for that Gameday was pretty jacked also.

ESPN wants a bigger novelty than the Jags. They will find another FCS matchup, an Ivy League game, an HBCU contest...S Alabama is way down the list.

And what makes you think a national audience gives a shite about this South Alabama team? Irrelevant, shitty, and 250 million people in this country probably hasn't a clue there's a football team at South Alabama.

You're dumber than you seem if you don't see the significance of some of these games in comparison to South Alabama and Mississippi State. 1.) Navy-Troy: Gameday was aboard the USS San Diego in tribute to ESPN's Fourth Annual America's Heroes: A Salute to Our Veterans. 2.) Notre Dame-Michigan: The significance of this game is far greater than a random South Alabama-Mississippi State game. These are the two more storied football programs this country has to offer. Not to mention, it was the first night game in Michigan Stadium. 3.) Army-Air Force: Not only is this game part of the Commander-in-Chief's trophy, but it came on a special week of ESPN programming in conjunction with Veterans Day. 4.) Hampton-FAMU: FAMU became the first historically black college to host College Gameday. Again, far greater significance than a "new" Division I team that is somewhat competitive. 5.) Illinois-Northwestern: Game was played at one of the most historic stadiums (Wrigley Field) this country has to offer.
gtfo with this stupid shite.

And what makes you think a national audience gives a shite about this South Alabama team?
I could see it more as a venturing to a location that ESPN has never been before while playing one of the rising SEC teams.

Sure Illinois played Northwestern at a baseball field, nobody gave a frick about that game either. Despite their historical reasons for hosting those games, their national audience was still minuscule

Pissy?

All I am doing is backing up my prediction. Who else made a prediction in this thread?

I'll make a prediction. Gameday won't be at South AL that weekend.

I'm rooting for you though

Christ. How many years has MSU been 'rising' in the SEC? That shite needs to stop.

Again, I understand that many people likely don't give a shite about these games. Unlike this USA-MSU game, there is a storyline to them, however. Whether it's the first night game in Michigan Stadium, a football game being played at a historic baseball stadium, or something having to do with our nation's history in combat, there's a storyline. Something of significance drives College Gameday to these sites. What would possibly drive College Gameday to Mobile, AL for a USA-MSU game?

Is ESPN allowed to host anything commemorating the Confederates during the Civil War?

If only football was a spring sport they could honor the creation of Mardi Gras too

So you are going off an ESPN graphic that predicts state to finish above LSU?

Am I reading off of something released by ESPN projecting Mississippi St to finish about LSU? It think it is pretty clear that is what I am doing.

Does the picture look different to you?

you dumb.

The national audience for a South Alabama-Miss St gameday vs Illinois-Northwestern gameday game at Wrigley wouldn't even be comparable. The Illini game would blow your shite gameday out of the water. Hell, all of Chicago probably watched it. I was unaware South Alabama even had a team until this thread.

ESPN is wrong on their predictions with college football more than right

I can't believe this thread got so many bites.

I'll bet that I'll be like one of the 3 posters on this entire site who will actually be at the game.
