I'm gonna say USF. It's been a while for them, also just a complete shot in the dark.

How many teams hosted an ESPN Gameday more than once last season?
Yes. Clemson is the 1 team that hosted multiple Gamedays last year.

Mobile people will treat the MSU-South Alabama like the Senior Bowl.

there will be a good crowd at kickoff but by the 3rd quarter, everyone will have gone back to the house or to their tailgate spot to get drunk.

the most people I think I've ever seen at a South game was a few years ago against Troy in the rain.

So the same as most SEC games? If it is a good game, people will stay. Hell even the GoDaddy bowl stays packed if it is a good game. Most of that crowd is Mob natives

Navy fricking crushed us last year but that was the only team that did.

we had a bunch of real close losses but also some narrow wins.

I think we could go bowling this year.

but you know what?

it will have to be the GoDaddy Bowl which is lame as frick in my opinion.

Dude, the program is only 4 years old. Give it some time. The gulf coast produces some of the best talent in the nation. And if Gameday is hosted in Mobile, their popularity will grow

Now I know you're trolling. It was well done, because you truly sold yourself as a delusional fan who thinks their program is somehow relevant

NDSU is a perennial FCS contender

Big fricking deal

If ESPN is going to showcase a lesser-known program, I'm going to assume they care more about exposing a winning program than an average Sun Belt team.

quote:

The week College Gameday went to Fargo was two weeks after NDSU pulled the upset of KSU in Manhattan. The same KSU team that won eight games and won their bowl game.

quote:

So they land a Gameday against an 0-3 team that they beat 51-0?

Oh thank god the nation was able to watch that nail biter.

Not a lot of games to pick from on an FCS schedule. Once the conference season got underway for FBS programs, it pretty much negates any chance of ESPN going to Fargo. So, yes, they landed on that game. Again, if ESPN wants to showcase a smaller program, NDSU is the best fit. They win, and win a lot.

South Alabama? Um... No

quote:

What South has become in only a 4-year lifespan is pretty remarkable. Would be more interesting than some high school team in bumfrick america stomping the shite out of a shittier HS team.

I commend S. Alabama for getting a football team up and competitive against shitty competition that has fielded teams much longer than they have. Seriously. However, there is absolutely zero reason why Gameday would choose to go there. Absolutely zero reason.

I really can't believe how quickly we've developed.

Almost caught Tennessee napping in the 2nd half last year and beat them.

so when I see where the SecTards are giving us no shot at all against Miss State. That figures.

but let me tell you right... there will be no gameday in Mobile.

Mobile is fortunate enough to have a bowl game and have always hosted the Senior Bowl.

but that's where it ends buddy.

I'll buy you and your friends all of their drinks at Boo Radley's, Callahan's, or where ever if we get selected.

Captain, if you had just let the GameDay thing go 4 pages ago, this could turn into an actual discussion on South, which is what you wanted

Oh really? A minor league doesn't produce a lot of games? I feel shocked.

You really think more people care about North Dakota St than a up and coming Sun Belt team against a decent SEC team? Especially in a more profitable market?

And yet you guys focus on one sentence in the OP. It wasn't even supposed to be a discussion on South. It was on teams you think will surprise people this season.

And them being a potential candidate for ESPN Gameday in Week 3 is not an outrageous thought.

I'm not trying to bring you down or anything but I've been to several USA games and the attendance has always been poor.

We need our own stadium... BAD!

Ladd is an old dump were we played all of our games in high school. McGill shared Ladd with Murphy, Davidson, Williamson, Leflore, even fricking B.C. Rain played some home games there because Trimmier Park is an even bigger dump.

but McGill has their own stadium now.

plus... the parking is pretty limited around the stadium and you have people who are afraid to go down to that part of town.

they are just a bunch of pussies I guess... I mean there is always a shite load of cops down there for the games anyway.

Just doesn't seem feasible right now.

Damn right we do

Well to be fair that area of town IS pretty rough. It is probably worse for some of those HS games than it is for a USA game. And similar to the NDSU game, I'm sure if they did Gameday there it would be an afternoon game and let one of the bigger games get prime time.

MSU vs USA at 4:30 pm for Gameday

Georgia vs USC or UCLA vs UT for primetime night game. Not outrageous
