Fishing shows are cool because they do the same exact things that I could. I woke up this morning to a dude deer hunting on a pristine farm with a guide right next to him. After that, a guy was in Africa hunting antelopes, and now they are hunting a cape buffalo.

I just think this shite is ridiculous. Who has the money to pay $50k/yr for a deer lease in Illinois? Who has the money to spend $100k on an Africa trip and stay in a 5-star hotel while doing so. They just get in the back of a LR Defender, drive to exactly where the animals are, and shoot one within 10 minutes. Then they don't have to load it up or skin it, just go back and sit in their en suite hot tub.

Let's see a mother fricker dragging a skinny 150lb basket rack 13pt through the swamp by himself and I'll enjoy/respect that much more.

I could watch fishing and bird hunting all day, but the big game hunts are pretty stupid.

Not really all that much anymore. I will still watch occasionally with my dad but not near as much as I used to

Only if the hosts aren't obnoxious and it isn't high fence hunting.

Other than safari shows and varmint hunting, no.

I like watching people shoot elephants and mow down piggies from helicopters. Deer hunting shows are intolerable unless it's the nuge on a population control mission.

NO, I can't stand when they shoot something they turn around a look at the camera and tell you what just happened. Hey a-hole, I just watched you don't have to tell me what happened.

As dumb as it sounds, I like watching Pigman. He's a total douche bag, but when he hunts i find it pretty funny. I also, like all the jokes and pranks he pulls on his dad.

Im not saying I make it a point to watch his show, I have no idea when it comes on. I just catch it whenever and its pretty funny.

As far as "serious" hunting shows, no for the exact reasons you mentioned.

I watched a pretty good turkey hunt with mike Waddell the other day. Some guys are just way mor entertaining to watch. If you're some lame arse old dude with no sense of humor, I'm changing the channel.

I like Jim Shockey and Kieth Warren, the rest are pretty douchy.

When October hits I usually watch VERY little of them just to kinda set the mood.
But I hate the celebrations.
Also not too impressed by the huge deer they kill.

I totally agree with you. Me and a good buddy are putting a video together now where we travel to public lands across the country hunting and doing the exact same thing "average Joe" can do. We will have it finished after this year. Hopefully put it in production also

I can't stand how right after the hunter shoots his 7Mag at a deer 60yards away, how he turns to the camera and whispers.

I used to watch them before they became so cheesy. What I really can't stand is the whispering after the shot. Are they afraid their going to spook the dead animal?

Friend of mine used to always pick at the people who would watch them at the camp. He'd always say in the most serious tone "I wonder if they're going to kill anything?" . Hunting is a lot about preperation and you don't see that so much in the shows because it all takes place beforehand. I don't care to watch shome guy shoot a big deer. Each show is pretty much the same. Fishing shows actually show you a lot of technique, so I find myself watching them sometimes.

In October when I'm chomping at the bit to shoot a duck, I can watch Avian X or RNT. Any other time of the year I couldn't care less.

Hunting, fishing, and golf are all in the same category for me. They're all things I like to do, but feel no need to watch other people on tv doing it.

I will occasionally watch a fishing show if they're somewhere I'm familiar with. But that's it.
