Or he's talking about Summer League

Though I'm not sure Twitter is ever the right place to voice your opinion, I agree with you. Some of our fans have really idiotic and unrealistic visions of what can be done.

No. He's being sarcastic.
He's saying that people are being too impatient and to wait for moves to play out.
In other words, there's no game tomorrow so chill the frick out.
He's just saying it in typical douche fashion.

I think Demps has done a pretty good job of taking Monty's crack away. If our plan for SF is to hit the corner 3 and funnel guys to AD/Asik then Salmons may not be as inadequate as we're all thinking. The Spurs make nobodies look special by being able to limit what they ask them to do.
I'm not particularly worried about him on offense. Having him as an outlet behind the arc takes a lot of pressure off Evans, Davis, and Asik.
I'm more worried about how they can cover for his deficiencies on D.

the bourbon street shots guys are making it seem like they think he will be our starting SF.... I don't mind the signing as a backup but if he's our starter I feel like it still leaves a glaring hole at that position. I feel like we aren't done dealing.

The BSS guys also keep talking about Miller which I assume to be Darius Miller. Is he coming back? Did I miss something?

what does it matter if he starts or not? If he's only playing 18 minutes a game, it doesn't matter. He just needs to play with whatever lineup maximizes his impact on the team.

We've yet to renounce Miller's rights, at least the last time I checked.
It stands to reason we'd have a decent chance of bringing him back if that's the case.

That's my best guess as to why the signed him. With a lineup of Jrue/Reke/AD/Asik, they figured frick defense, we just need a guy to hit the corner 3, and Salmons still does that at a high level. I'd have still much preferred Marion, but I'm not freaking out over overpaying on a $2m/1yr deal for a guy that will play ~15mpg.

Personally I like Casspi better than Salmons at SF for the @PelicansNBA -
But Salmons is okay.

Fwiw, Salmons best offensive production is catch and shoot.
Defensively is where he's been much better. Was near the top 5% in the league at guarding the pick and roll and top 15% on off ball screens. He struggled mightily in Iso situations and is average guard spot up shooters.

We better not use him to guard Durant or LBJ then.

Is there another reason we gave Salmons $2 million? I just added up all of our salary, and assuming minimum deals for Smith, Young, and someone like Darius Miller, the payroll is about $74.8 million with Asik's balloon payment. Could Benson have told Demps he's limited to $75 million?
Posted on 7/14/14 at 3:45 pm to THRILLHO
Although I have not seen anything finalized, not sure why we would not just keep Casspi if Salmons is the plan as a starter.

Don't see why he would mind paying an extra ~$700k. Plus the Rockets sent us $1.5m.
