I used to think the same, until he became the Yankees all-time hit leader. Quite an accomplishment when you think about all of the great SOBs that have played for that organization.

I am by no means suggesting Jeter is overrated. However I think the main reason Jeter is the all time hit leader for the Yankees is because the organization always gets established veterans to come later in their career, whereas Jeter is one of the few career Yankees.

I do respect the crap out of Jeter though, but hate the Yankees.

I remember watching Jeter play in Columbus for the AAA Clippers. Its amazing how fate happens sometimes. What most people will never know is that Derek Jeter was a 2nd baseman for the Clippers. The Yankees had a stud SS by the name of Ryan Beeney. He hurts his knee, Jeter moves over to short and the rest is history. Crazy to think what might have been?

Yes because Gehrig, Berra, Mantle, and DiMaggio all came to the Yankees as free agents.

It's actually more of a Jordan commercial that shows Jeter.

Sitting here in Manhattan that commercial touches home. Not to mention in the final picture of Manhattan with Jersey City, Bayonne and Staten island I saw home (or the block)

Derek Jetuh!

We drove to Scranton to see him last year

Deadspin did a realistic ending to the Jeter commercial.

I like the Yankees, but this is funny:

True story. This whole Yankee send off crap with Mariano Rivera and now Derek Jeter is over the top.

So I'm guessing you're mad about this commercial too?
