I checked the abandonment time in Louisiana. It is 3 days on private property. SO I guess I will wait until the end of the week and call the DMV.

That means that the city/parish will come out, put a sticker on it, then if it's not moved, they'll tow it and impound it. It does not mean it is yours after 3 days.

Why don't the sellers just sign the title over to you?

3 days. You mean if someone parks their car in my yard and I don't know who it is. After three days I own that car. On that note. I have long term parking available for anyone who works offshore in Bay St. Louis, St. Francisville, and Baton Rouge. Please contact/reply if interested!
