What does that have to do with this situation exactly?

Jimmy would be crazy not to sign a long term deal after being ruled a TE. He was making a low salary (in NFL terms) so its not like he has a ton of $ in the bank to afford to sit out.

Hell it would prob be in the best interest of the saints if he plays under the 1 yr franchise tag so Saints can see whether or not the rest of the league has started to "figure out" Graham or if the NE and Seattle gsmes were just a fluke.

Jimmy is a gator arming, no showing, under performing, asswipe. If he wants to play football and win a championship he can sign the deal we gave him which is more than enough to compensate his talent. If not I'm all for the fo trading him to the shittiest team in the league and letting his career die as a lesson in negotiations.

That would be hilarious.

How Breesus imagines negotiating with Graham:

I just dont see the Saints budging much. Saints probably feel that they could survive w/o him. This is so much different than Brees bc the Saints would have been a bottom dweller w/o him and Brees snd the Saints knew that.

16 TD's in one year is not a easily replaceable stat it seems to me.

My point is that they wont budge and pay him top WR $ instead of top TE $. The question is if Graham could take the financial hit of sitting out the yr. Its not like he was in Brees situation where he had already made millions of $ in salary.

Just from an unbiased opinion, the Saints offered JG a contract that would make him the highest paid TE in the history of the NFL. If I were a Saints fan, what else do you want them to do?!

All that being said, I hope they load that truck up full of cash and park it in JG's yard. The more $$ the merrier for me. But honestly, what else is the Saints FO supposed to do?

The offer on the table is legit; there's no reason to budge at all.

He lost the last of his leverage when he was ruled a TE.
The game is to wait till the last minute which with the help from fan sites like this one does just that and gives the most time possible to build up pressure on the FO to budge a little.

Plus the organization would not be crippled w/o JG. The Saints had no choice with Brees bc the Saints would have been terrible w/o him.

JG is a great offensive weapon; anyone who says otherwise just doesn't know what they're talking about. The team wants him on the team, but at what price?

With some big contracts on the defense on the immediate horizon, something has to give. You can't keep everybody who wants a big payday. This is why Loomis makes the big bucks.

Agreed. I don't mind the fact that Jimmy appealed his ruling as a TE, but it's kind of ridiculous at this point that he hasn't signed the deal on the table. The Saints have no reason to negotiate any further, and the deal should have been signed by now. I am confident he will sign by tomorrow, but still...

His comparison was fair. Your comparison would be fair if he was looking for $20 million/year

It is a business. I'll start criticizing if he doesn't sign by tomorrow. It would be financially idiotic to leave that money on the table
