We got paired with a single yesterday.

Biggest BSer I've met. Said he shot a 75 his first round of the day and his best round at FL was a 68. Was "best friends" with Jonathan Papelbon because they played Halo in college.

Asked what I was putting for on 18. When I told him 77 he said he was putting for 76. Yeahhhh right. Maybe after taking two off the tee and counting anything inside two club lengths on the green.

He was a real life Net. Every tee ball was followed with "Perfecccccccct. That was crushed! Oh look at that draw. Perfect man."

It was hilarious and annoying at same time.

How so?

Something to do with standing on his line?

bingo, every putt. I know the usga rule book very well but I don't know crap about aimpoint. I need to look at both. And also he did tee up infront of a marker one time also.

I know a rule is a rule but that's tough to call someone on

They aren't really gaining any advantage and you have to believe it's an honest mistake but it still irks me

can't do it. It could be considered testing the surface and or trying to pat down spike marks.

Pretty sure you can walk in your line all you want but you cant touch a point with anything to point out your actual line.

The rules with this and then having aimpoint will make the decisions book even longer.

YOu def cant pat down spike marks. Can you imagine the pace of play if you could?

2 aimpoints..

one is an express where you dont have to walk in your line. Or at least thats how I was taught it.

The other is crazy and too long to understand.

Seems like both require you to gauge the slope which is the purpose of standing on your line

Not sure how express can be near as good if you don't do that

I may take the class if ole man does

Express is by a number you put in your head and normally only works on 20 footers and in.

Mainly you get right at your ball straddle it and feel where you lean to. You get a number from your feel (a little lean is 1 and a lot is 4) You then get behind ball and use the amount of fingers that your number was. If you lean 2 to the right then it breaks right and you hold up 2 fingers with one your right finger in the center of the cup. Where your left finger is, is your line.

The other is real crazy and takes into consideration slope percentage and where the straight uphill putt would be in the middle of your line.

I stand to the side of the line, to me I can feel the slope better to the side, I have a level that I practice with, and use it

if it's a 1 2 or3* slope I feel it in my feet then stand behind the ball and make my read

speed of greens is a factor also, greens around here usually 8-9
