I've noticed lately that the national media has seemed to have bought into LSU being on the down slide. There's been an abundance of threads on these comments recently. Are they just misinformed because I personally feel LSU is set up to have the brightest future in the Miles Era. We have an NFL coordinator who has shown he can run a competent offense and develop QB's. We have one of the most respected defensive coordinators in college football. Neither has shown any signs of leaving LSU and are being handsomely paid. We have a proven winner at HC who provides stability to the program. We have a recruiting coordinator who is arguably among the top recruiters in the conference. We are recruiting on as high a level as ever and have probably the highest regarded recruit in LSU history coming in. It just appears to me that we are set up for future prominence and it seems to be overlooked.

LSU is on great footing. As of right now 2014-2016 could be great seasons.

The competition is tough though.

All we have to do is win with our schedule. Really don't care about what they think. Its what our players see as their championship destinies that is important. Their belief in one another to play as champions. And be classy about it accepting it as doing their jobs, but with CLASS.

LSU football is definitely above average.

It depends if we keep losing Juniors at the rate(especially the mid round playerS) we have the last 2 years. We can't keep having all these green players and expect to win in the SEC.

2nd most important thing is developing a QB. We've had 1 true above average season by a QB since Matt Flynn.

Actually I like the impression that the media and especially our opponents have about our Tigers. Once we start showing our stripes by beating the other teams convincingly (most importantly Bama!) then we can start smiling and

LSU has dodged many bullets in the post Saban era that began in a January. Its a tribute to everyone associated with LSU, that they have overcome them all. Auburn was down, Texas, USCw, Michigan, Penn St Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, even easy ole Ohio State had a bad yr on the gridiron and had a probation. Mark Richt's seat was scorching 2 yrs ago.

LSU had some rotten luck. During their undefeated season they likely wouldve beaten anyone other than Alabama that night. The following yr they had an NFL team and dominated the Bama game but lost on the screen pass at the end of the game. Some questionable sideline decisions were costly as well. LSU played one of their very best games ever that night.
If we win either game the perception is LSU is a juggernaut. Losing the most players to NFL, playing one of the very hardest schedules and still kicking butt.....
C'est la vie.

But LSU has withstood the latest obstacle which was the unprecendented NFL departures and are on solid footing again. Still a year away from being completely stacked, but really an amazing accomplishment as u look around and see some of the very best programs struggling every 4-5 years.
There are very few schools that have matched the Miles era and when u consider everything that has transpired, it would be a very short list nationally.
2nd in recruiting last yr and the additions of Coach Cameron and Grimes has LSU right back where they belong on the verge of a Championship. But , its not as easy as it used to be. Almost all the SEC schools have doubled and even tripled their number of 4 and 5* players. Its about to become a QB thing, if it hasnt already.

LSU hovers over the region with the most dense talent in the nation. As long as we're willing to pay the price - for coaches and facilities - we will remain one of the top five powers. No decline!

Agreed but I think these national types are just looking at two main things, being in the same division as the gumps, and our high turnover to the NFL, the past two years particularly.

Let's face it, Bama will be the national darling as long as Saban remains there. Their recruiting and run of success will be tough to match, but if any program is capable of staying with them, it's LSU imo.

And generally speaking, having a high turnover to the NFL is not a bad thing. I think that attracts even more of the high level recruits to come to LSU. Though it might occasionally hit the program hard like last year, LSU will always reload quickly. Les is too good a recruiter in the most talent rich area of the country.

Once LSU beats Bama and ends that current 3 game slide, the national media will quickly change their tune imo.

This team is loaded with talent, we've had some of the best recruiting I've ever seen in my life time. Louisiana is a hotbed of talent right now. We should dominate for the next 4 to 5 years, as long as Les can keep his current coaching staff intact.

Talking heads have to talk. What they talk about may not be reality-based. Thus, little or no attention needs to be paid to what these kinds of talking heads talk about where LSU is concerned. Just look at the record at the end of the coming season and decide for yourself.
