I saw this excerpt and got really excited. On another note, it's sad that I'm getting excited about a guy shooting free throws. It would just be nice to watch LSU consistently make them again.

His propensity to attack the basket saw him get to the free-throw line, where he shot 92.5 percent, good enough for second among all division one players. LSU as a team shot 66.9 percent last season and has since lost the only two players that surpassed 70-percent from the charity stripe (Andre Stringer and Shavon Coleman).

He's good. Always has been. Always will.

That's just the way it is. Some things will never change.

He's the person I am most excited about next year. I certainly have caught Hornsby fever. It's not just his FT shooting though. He has an excellent shot from outside and unlike Stringer who had a good shot outside, he is 6'4" and can elevate over defenders.

my writeup from before last year... LINK

I'm also excited about his free-throw shooting, but that's just part of what I'm excited about. He can penetrate and kick (or get to the line - back to that 93% clip) and is a great all-around shooter with great range, plus great athleticism. He and Gray are going to be a really nice duo at guard for us. Though I wish we had a little more experienced depth at guard.

A lot of our success next year will hinge on how ready Big Elbert is to play the 5, IMHO. He appears to have shed a TON of weight.

I'm more excited about Josh Gray. I'm just hoping we're not expecting too much out of Hornsby like we did with Malcolm White.

They were both transfers in a time when we had a big void at their position.
