YEC is a subset of ID. You can believe in ID without being a YEC, but you cannot be a YEC apart from ID.

Yea, but you went from the very specific to the very broad based on nothing. If that was FT's true point, he'll rectify it, but don't make assumptions.

That would be like me making a comment about Bengal tigers and then someone stating, "oh, he was just talking about cats in general."

Doesn't work that way.

Not exactly how I would put it. Both are subsets of Creationism writ large, as is Francis Collins' Theistic Evolution (he calls it BiosLogos).

But YEC and ID are incompatible with each other once you get past the "First, there was God" part.
