He may have been one of the top 3 players in 2002, for sure. But I'd argue that we had great performances from 6 guys that tournament (Friedel, Donovan, Beasley, Mastroeni, Sanneh, and O'Brien). Pope was damn good, too.

Ill defer to you on this one. I am just remembering him being so dominant in the Midfield controlling everything.
