I am 24 and moving out of my apartment and need a decent option for a vacuum. I currently have one but it's pretty much broken. Before I buy one, I was wondering if any of you have a good recommendation since I literally know nothing about vacuum cleaners. I am looking to spend like 125 or less.

Thanks

Miele. Spend $400 once on a German motor and steel ball bearings that you absolutely can't destroy or spend the $100/a year at walmart on whatever.

I was going to say get a Dyson until I saw your price limit. For less than $125 you may be able to get a Hoover or something

I saw on Facebook that a couple of my old high school friends recently got suckered into spending thousands of dollars on some vacuum cleaner from a door-to-door salesman.

Idiots.

We got the Kirby Sentria or whatever the hell it is. The wife wanted a Dyson and a carpet shampooer.

Expensive but the Kirby does literally everything (you cant even use it as a paint sprayer) and it will last forever.

Whatever you do don't buy the cheapest one at Walmart. I bought it one time and I would rate it has a 2/10 and it burned up in less than a year. Go to Home Depot and get the Hoover that costs about $150 and it is pretty decent.

It sounds snooty but buy a good vacuum, frick being cheap on it. The day I got my Dyson, I ran my old shitbox Hoover over my rug a few times and then ran my Dyson. I literally filled up the entire reservoir with dog hair and dirt after running the Hoover a few times. Add on top of that the fact that cheap vacuums are built extremely cheap now, buy a good one now and never have to deal with buying another one again.

At 24 a VACUUM cleaner brand was the least of my concerns... You should have a broad cleaning your crib dude, and it won't matter what brand you buy!

No one who has spent more than $400 on a vacuum will tell you they made a bad decision.

Same as $100 sunglasses, etc.

I just bought this one and it is awesome. I used a Dyson while at my parents house and I'd say this is on par with it.

Go to a-1 vacuum on florida blvd in the hood in br and buy whatever that guy recommends.

I had a bottom of the line, Walmart special Hoover that survived for the better part of 6 years, so sometimes you get more than you pay for.

I recently upgraded to a Eureka with suction seal ($150ish at Walmart) and am super glad I did. I can turn off the roller to suck up all the dog hair on the wood floors.

That being said, I did kill this new one with a cheap rug (pulled a thread and locked up the roller). Took it to A-1 and the guy was really nice and helpful; took the time to explain the part and that it is the part that will break on that model of vacuum (some sort of plastic gear that connects the belt to the roller get stripped).

My mom got a Sebo probably 15 years ago and that thing is still alive and kickin' (that German engineering is a beast!), so if you can afford to spend big and buy quality, it is worth it in the long run.

TL;DR

Spend the extra if you can afford it; if not, read reviews and/or talk to the guy at A-1 Vacuum Cleaner on Florida Blvd.

I bought a Dyson almost 7 years ago, still works awesome. Spending $125 or less, you will definitely get a piece of shite that will prolly only work for a few months.
