Because if I'm a superb athlete that could excel in Soccer vs. Basketball, Baseball, or Football

I'm going with the other 3 for the $$.

The highest paid Soccer player makes 6.7mil iirc.

being a superb athlete at one of those sports does not mean you would a superb athlete at soccer. The physical and especially mental traits needed for soccer are much different than those that are needed for american football. It seems to be a poor excuse for why we are not better at soccer that is always thrown out there.

The odds of reaching the highest level in those sports is less-likely than soccer.

Soccer has more teams and more opportunity.

I'm fairly confident in saying that if there was a US born athlete who was a truly elite(Ronaldo/Messi type) soccer player, he would be pretty easily the highest paid athlete in America.
