Exactly. Why can't the US develop their own format that works best for the talent in this country that will produce the best results.

Because the vast majority of great players come from poor backgrounds and grow up constantly with a ball at their feet. Upper middle class and higher kids aee gonna be indoors playing video games in the AC

The MLS becoming a top notch league is pretty much the only way soccer ever gets into the conversation with the big 4 in this country.

As long as the best games are played half way around the world at inconvenient times, the sport will never be more than a novelty.

The time zone issue hasn't gotten enough play as a favor in why this particular world cup has been so popular imo.
