Just got out of a pre-screening of the movie. It is outstanding! Go see it so it gets wider release next week!

My tea party friend asked me to go see it with him. He's a little more fringe right than I am (he's worked on campaigns and for a R congressman). He's my wife's friends brother and we sat by each other at a pro life luncheon and he was excited to meet somebody with similar politics who doesn't repeat Hannity and rush talking points. He's been inviting me to tea parties ever since. Will report.

No the best example of Dimmerat hypocrisy is the bitchin they do about CEO's being overpaid but the Lib movie star or pop star making big jack all deserve it and more, not to forget the pro athletes who are killing it

No fricking way I'm going to watch this conservative fantasy film about an America that never has and never will exist.

I would say 4/5 of the movie were very good.

The discussion on the crimes of America were handled very well and I appreciated that he didn't go out of his way to discredit the opposing viewpoints but offer counterarguments on their own.

No denying that they happened but did America originate a lot of the things they are hated for? Is there more to the story than Zinn and Allinsky preach? Yes.

The only part I didn't care for was the attack on the current administration. I'm diametrically opposed to all of their stances but outside of the Allinsky connection it was forced, misplaced, and broke up the nature of the film. Remove that part and it's a much better film.

I went to see it yesterday but made sure to pay cash for my ticket. Don't want to be targeted by the IRS for my subversive movie choices.

The movie is probably about as intellectually honest and entertaining as simply watching military Jets fly over the Super Bowl for 2 hours straight...while everyone waves red, white and blue pom-poms with a hot-dog shoved down their gut.

The best thing about this misguided polemic is how mad you are. LOL

Hmmm...so busy I didn't get to view it, MS; but "not what expected"? Just curious...in what way were you surprised?

D'Souza is generally very systematic. Frames the imagery with Obama's words, and those of his chosen cohorts. Believes - as more each day do - that Obama is out to "fundamentally transform" this nation to the European Socialist model. Even or regardless that near half of the populous want none of it, and see such as a pernicious cultural shift that is contrary to their God-given Rights.

As such, any transition/transformation will necessarily be Authoritarian. And likely all the more rejected...by force of arms...if need be. Though economic/systematic collapse and an ensuing relative anarchy is far more likely. Kinda like Katrina...only across the board. Power goes back to locals.

I do hope to see it; but most on this board don't really need to. Hell...we could probably have produced the thing.

I did read "The Transhumanist Wager" over the weekend. Mindblower. If these folk are for real...Marxist are the least of our worries. In fact, the Egalitarian Marxist should shaking in their shoes. Darwinian...on steroids. Or more succinctly...computeresque reason.

I think he's got Obama pegged.

Remember D'Souza is from India a former British colony.

Obama's father was from Kenya, the same.

If anybody understands post-colonial attitudes and the resentment towards the West, it's D'Souza.

Per that interview with Bill Ayers last week...I suspect it's gone waaayyy past "resentment", R. They believe it's more in the category of high crime genocidal, a systematic form of human immorality. It's conceptual...from (Sowell's) "First Principle" based descriptor...right on 'forward' from there. There will be no agreement on this one.

"War in heaven (basic concepts) and war on Earth" (Biblical, end-time prophecy). Heavy stuff!

Exactly why I don't fear the takers in the long run. They only hand they have is artificially created. Reality will deal with that eventually.

good movie, not what I was expecting, for those that think this is just a right wing love fest, it's more of history is history, facts are facts, it's not a right vs. left, it's more a right vs. wrong.
