Men only have to pay, like $5 for birth control but women have to pay $200/month

If men want to go to the drug store and spend less than $20 for birth control, they can do so. A woman has to visit her doctor ($90-150) and get a prescription ($200/month) for birth control.
quoted from a poster in the comments section of a cnn article about the upcoming SCOTUS ruling.
Why do people think this is any kind of valid point?
Can't women also buy condoms and provide it for their partner?

She must be talking about the pill that comes with a bottle of champagne and is gold plated.

That's weird, I'm pretty sure my SO pays around $10 a month for her BC.
It does not, however, include a bottle champagne.

She should have been called out on it.
She wasn't. BCPs are not a suitable sexual adjunct in instances of nonmonogamous sex. Sorry.
Not only can the woman buy condoms, she should buy condoms! If she doesn't buy them, in a day-and-age of HIV, herpes, hepatitis, etc., she is an abject moron.

It really is just this simple.

Maybe she believes the average woman spends $200/month in condoms and the $90-$150 for the inevitable trips to the doctor to diagnose the weird molds covering her nether regions.

Bc people are fricking stupid... Seriously, I don't see how 75% of Americans get through their daily lives.
Its sad that I know more about the truth in regards to BC than this person...
Your insurance, whether they cover bc or not, would cover your trip to the doc to get a prescription (That is once every 6 mo or a year). Secondly, you can buy generic BC without insurance for less than $30/mo
Its fricking sad that people think BC is a right and something that they should get for free.

Personal responsibility has become a bad thing these days.

Better yet, using their line of thinking.... What if a female is unable to take bc for health reasons? I mean, she should be able to have contraceptives just like her peers.... So should insurance pay for a months supply of condoms for her? Then lets go further, if a female can then get condoms covered, why shouldn't a male?
frick, I think every drugstore/grocer should have bowls just like health clinics with a sign "Free Condoms" above it. Trojan and the likes should just give their produce away to everyone

I can walk into any health department and grab a handful of condoms, from 8:30 AM-5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, for FREE.
In fact, I'm gonna do that today, and make balloon animals for my nephews.

Actually, going off the discussions about it lately, it sounds more like she's requesting government sponsored "rape."

or abstain/masturbate, if finances are an issue?
*ETA: that's just abstaining from intercourse, and mostly intercourse with orgasm in her (with no condom). a condom + pulling out is super effective (but not 100%)

Is this what happens when you teach women to hate themselves?

$25 tops for generic BC pills. And as mentioned above, these whores can buy condoms too. Or use other holes.

Assuming part of the argument is the woman might be in no condition to retrieve a condom from her purse, assumes rape.

i don't get the whole "irresponsible sex" mindset, especially from educated people who obviously do not want kids
i'm no puritan or religious nut also. sex is great and i don't think it should be limited by marriage or choosing a person of the opposite sex. whatever floats your boat among willing participants of a reasonable age.
but there are consequences to sex...especially sex without a condom (and/or BC). women can push for this objective reality where men and women are equal all they want, but the fact remains that women carry our progeny (at this point in evolution). they have more to "lose" if an unexpected pregnancy arises. you can't just wish that away, or act like the protection-response will be equal (or cost the same)

Wait, I thought Obamacare made birth control free?
(disclaimer: I understand that free is not free.)

It's very easy to stop a woman from having sex. Marry her.
