i think he legit enjoyed playing in NOLA, a lot due to it sort of "resurrecting" his career, so to speak... which is good to hear because i'm sure that will get around to other FAs.

Interesting omission of Brian Roberts. Still have a S&T play.

Let's see. Memphis is interested in Roberts and just signed Vince Carter. With their backlog at SF, would a S&T of Roberts for QPon make sense? Quincy is coming off the foot injury, but he would certainly have a chance to upgrade the position as an energy backup. Then ink whatever stopgap shooter SF you can get with any exceptions the Pels have left.

Memphis would have to pay Roberts $2.2 million for that to be a legal trade. I'm guessing it'd be easier to fit him into one of their $1.1 million trade exceptions as part of the Asik trade. Also, they aren't really stacked at SF. They're going to lose Miller and they regret resigning Prince. Unless they pick up a SF with the MLE, I would be surprised if they saw more value in Roberts than QPon.

The Hornets are shifting their focus to Jazz free agent forward and former UNC star Marvin Williams, a source said.

I would think he can get that from someone.

You said "stacked." I said backlog, which is accurate in this case.

QPon had a terrible start to last season and fell out of the rotation at times before his injury. They just brought in another vet to play SF. It's quite possible they do not value him all that much.

Good look to him

I wish we had a backlog at SF. We have a backlog of 2 guards that can occasionally play the 3. Tayshaun for example likely plays more small ball 4 for the Grizz if he is still on the roster.

The signing of Beno Udrih the other day likely means we are out of the backup PG hunt because we still have Calathes as well.

If we do make a trade QPon is the most likely guy, but I don't see a trade happening unless we find a way to attach Tayshaun Prince to the deal.

Marvin would be nice here as a 2 yr stopgap.

Dell need to call Morey at some point this weekend right? Rox have about 15MM in space right now...we have a cornerstone piece that makes 14MM that can opt out after next year...

Morey saves face by not flushing his cap space for chandler and likely clears it again next year. Pels get...well, you know

I think they should take a chance on Evan Turner at SF. No way the pacers sign both him and Stephenson.

He wouldn't be a good fit at all.

Unfortunately, the Cornerstone is way too similar to their cornerstone, Harden.

They wouldn't do it for the player
If they don't burn space before 10pm tomorrow it's gone when they match parsons. Then, they'll have zero cap space until Dwight Howard comes up again, and even then his cap hold will be restrictive

trade for Gordon now, then match parsons, then talk Eric into opting out in 2015. Boom...14MM in cap space

they are going to have a very hard time using all that space on 1 and 2 yr deals before Sunday nite

Harden, Howard, and Parsons will count for over $53.5M next year. If the cap goes up to $66M as expected, that's only $12.5M in space if they don't pick up any options. However, you'd also have to account for 9 roster holds, which will eat at least $4.5M of that $12.5M.

Basically, trading for Gordon and him opting out would make at most $8M in cap space, but cost them their non-taxpayer MLE and probably a biannual exception.

would still have Gordon's cap hold on the books even if he opted out

they could operate over the cap if they wanted to just like the heat did this year

Pau Gasol move to Bulls matter of sign-and-trade that could get him $10M per year, or straight signing for $6.5M range, sources tell Yahoo.

Houston in the mix, but if they match Parsons it won't really matter.
