In all honesty, it was a combination of injuries and Miles not letting Cameron go guns blazing. After the Ole Miss game the offense was very weary of going through the air. Luckily we had an NFL quarterback tossing the rock and two NFL receivers to save the offense when they did have to pass.

Take a good look at the threads on page 1. I had no idea that this thread would be such a huge pain in the arse.

By all means, please proceed to wondering which fricking number DJ Welter is going to wear.

I don't think people know how much it hurt our program when RP became a jackass. We really have never recovered at QB.

Uh yeah we have. Remember the Mettenberger guy?

We also now have one of the best QB coach/OC's in the country molding two talented and hard-working young QBs. Future is bright.

Yes. But the transition would have been so much smoother. Ryan caused us great pain.

Differences on offense early & later in the season is to be expected. We may not see the true plan until Oct 4 this year. Despite the talk, don't be surprised to not see the TE really involved until the meat of the SEC season.

Need to develop a passing game with our QBs, so expect to throw a lot early, against inferior competition, but that will change once the SEC season begins. They need to be comfortable to throw the ball when needed, not necessarily to score at will.

This staff will have a plan to deceive the Auburn plans from the beginning. The time this staff puts in, in the off season, might surprise many. Before the season begins, their is a game plan in place for each SEC opponent. Course it is updated as the season progresses.

Blocking schemes change week to week; the WR routes are so much option/read, it is difficult to plan for; blitz packages change weekly. Remember a Saban era story, that they named the blitz pkgs. after the states - ran out of states.

Expect an evolution of offense; may not be as wide open, entertaining later as earlier in the season. The objective of each game plan is of course, to win the game, but don't show everything to the next opponent. The fun of it all at the SEC level, is eleven (edit: 13) other teams are doing the same thing.

From the Georgia game to the Florida game we were polar opposites offensively. Once we beat Florida, it seems we stayed vanilla for the rest of the season.

Well Florida's strength was their pass defense, and they held our guys the whole game (was called too).

We certainly weren't vanilla against Ole Miss, Bama, or A&M

If we had been vanilla against Ole Miss, we would have won.

It's a bad sign when people confuse your actual opinion with trolling.

In the end, he was giving you too much credit.

Do you think LSU loses the Ole Miss game if we come out feeding Hill the ball with all their injuries to their front 7?

Do you really think that we ran a vanilla offense that game?

Mett just got greedy in the 1st half and made some poor throws. Scored 3 TD's in the second half but it just wasn't enough.

I do wish that the ground game was a focus for that game with all of the injuries ole miss had. At the end of the game, the defense just could NOT get ole misses offense off the field...

Do agree with this thought. But at the same time OBJ and Landry were dominating Purifoy, Roberson, and Hargreaves. Why we went away from the passing game was beyond me in that game.

Identical thought for the Alabama game.

The corners could not match up with the WR's. Yet we try and force a run game.

Also, it wasn't the UGA Defense that beat us in that game.

We've got Cam Cameron as our offensive coordinator. Not worried.

Who can say? That was just an all around bad game offensively and defensively. Mett made some awful decisions, the O Line couldn't block, and the defense was pretty bad.

Looking back, I didn't really like what we did formation-wise on offense. We were getting a 7 man box in our pro sets, so I don't know why or how we didn't run.

Falling behind 17-0 certainly doesn't help your gameplan either.

Mett hurt his knee really bad, and kept on playing.
