Ranchers along the Texas Mexico border are afraid for their families and doing their own patrols armed. It's only a matter of time before something happens. I believe Obama knows this.

Shoddy journalism in that article cited. They weren't fired by Obama. They weren't picked up by the continuation boards for a variety of reasons. Heck they even list Petraeus as being "fired"--he wasn't fired he retired after an extremely successful career and then Obama nominated him for head of the CIA. The writer of that article should be embarrassed.

I'm hardly a tin foil hat club member. Ask hairybackhair. I'm simply saying that there are armed ranchers in south Texas who are afraid of constant flow of people, weapons & drugs being run through their own property and are doing armed patrols of that property to protect their families. In also said I believe Obama is aware of that. Are you saying that he isn't? What's the conspiracy in that statement?

You could look up Beck's descriptor of folk who exhibit rob's behavior, Grlll...if worth it. I can't recall his exact word...but it fit a common profile to a T.
Like humanity has all of a sudden made a behavioral leap and become so....whatever...that we are totally immune from repeating the action (like rebellion to perceived illegitimate authority) of our recent history...or that which half the World is engaged in.
Sleeping with door (border) open, while 'terrorist' roam the streets...is normal, Grrrl. Our dear leader is far wiser than we. Rob knows this. Bend over!

But I could definitely see him trying to hold onto power. As an example, if the economy were to tank (which I think is a definite possibility due to events in the Middle East) there is no doubt in my mind he'd declare some sort of emergency just to take advantage of the situation.

Forget it, LC...won't happen. Though he is a "putz". But even he would know that like that land deal out in Arizona where all the militia came out against the jack boots...one confrontation where blood hit the ground...and it would quickly domino all the way to who runs the State National Guard. It would be the Governors. They'd have to order troops to shoot their own families. They'd tell Obama to f off. Since he's dissed the Constitution...why should they follow it. Or any of us for that matter.
He'll settle for what he has accomplished toward "fundamental change" into the European Socialist Democratic model. And continue his fight from a nice place in Washington. Hell, just the illegal (children) dump down in Texas will change that State to Blue within 10 years. Who will throw those kids out. He's smart...in a 'putzy' way.

It pissed me off that people are are so concerned about the illegal immigrants thAt they support the surge on.our borders right now aren't concerned at all about the Americans living there legally who are dealing with the actual consequences of that surge. I'm sure it's easy to have that sympathy for the illegal immigrants when they aren't dealing with the coyotes and cartel members crossing their property armed or the "innocent illegal immigrant" killing animals on their property for food. Funny how that's only on the local news.

He won't have US troops shoot us. They'd declare us all terrorists and have the UN blue helmets come in and shoot us.
And the events in the middle east are a small contributor to our economic problems. The real problem is the Central Bank that allows all the spending in the first place. (welfare, undeclared wars, quantitative easing, foreign aide, ect.) The middle east is not about access to oil. It is about keeping the oil traded in US federal reserve notes. The only real demand for the dollar is propped up because you can only buy oil in dollars. When this changes, is when you will see the collapse. We see the shift happening now and we'll most likely be brought to war to try and prevent that from happening. If we do have a currency collapse of this scale, I could see Obama declaring a state of emergency and delaying the election.
ETA: Is it a wonder why Gaddafi goes from getting billions in aide and being an ally to needing regime change bc of being a dictator in a matter of months?

We have a treaty with mexico that prevents that...this is a local law enforcement issue. Not a federal one.

I live on border state. It's an issue...but it's not an invasion.
