No question, it'll be a disappointment.

Best team does not win the title every year, but even so I'd be very disappointed if LSU didn't at least make a title game appearance (assume they win a playoff game if they make the cut).

sorry, but by any objective measure we don't have the best talent in the country.

Seeing as we did not win any while earning the " NFL U" title, who knows what to expect!! As we have seen giving Miles "Talent" doesn't equate to NC's. NC's are not expected at LSU, as stated by Administration and a surprising number of fans. Seems to me like as long as we are in the discussion for a NC into Nov, are voted best tailgaters, send most players to NFL, and stay top 10 recruiting most are satisfied. So I think no NC in remainder of Les tenure will NOT be viewed as disappointing by Admins and majority of fans cause it isn't expected or the measuring stick used to determine success in the program. I disagree with that, but am surprisingly outnumbered on this board and in general fan base.

Wow. Not sure what to say besides "you're a fricking idiot".

Anyone that "expects" a National Title every year shouldn't be able to independently go about their day without a caretaker.

They signed 47 players in the last class and haven't won anything yet. Too soon to say they're "back", but I agree about the rest of the teams. A&M is about to become a monster...luckily Arkansas is free falling and the Mississippi schools will always be the Mississippi schools.

Ok. What percentage do you think would call the last 4 years disappointing?? And what percentage of BAMA fans would call last YEAR disappointing?? Think those numbers would be 40% and 95%, respectively!! NC's aren't expected here.

They aren't "expected" anywhere, outside of some idiots in central Alabama. Anyone that "expects" a national championship is a delusional knuckle-dragger.

I expect us to bring in top recruiting classes every year and be in the running for the SEC West title every year, which in turn will nearly always put us in the hunt for the national title.

Oh, so you're one of those types that is so obsessed with Alabama and their program, that you'll never be happy with LSU, regardless of the fact that we're in the midst of BY FAR the best 10-15 year run in our school's history.

I don't like putting too many expectations on a team, it puts too much pressure on each game and makes them less fun to watch. If we do end up winning a championship, awesome, but it should never be a preseason expectation. You'll be disappointed more often than not. I don't want to have one loss ruin the rest of the season for me. Hoping for 10 wins this regular season, but would love it if we can do better!

Thanks for making the point. Expect and demand NC's and they will be had. Not every year but is 1 over the past 6 years given LSU's resources unreasonable?? All I am saying is we are not different from any school not named BAMA in NC expectations so I feel there will no disappointment in a majority of our fans if Les does NOT win another title, given we see same results as last year.

If lsu only loses 2 regular season games each year I'll take it.

Oh really? It's that simple. Why haven't more teams' fans just DENANDED national titles?

Works for me. Considering we went 13-0 and made a title game between our last title and now...

So much luck involved. 2005-2006 were some of the best talent in the country. Is the LSU fanbase too spoiled?

Was just watching ESPN. None of the 3 guys on had us in the top 10 this year. I like being the underdog. Our turn to beat Bama .

Glad it works for you. And I am surprised it works for what appears to be the majority of LSU Fans. No one expects NC like BAMA, and no one has them like BAMA. Those are facts. I just find it funny sometimes that our fan base screams when someone ranks others ahead of us in tailgating, stadium, band etc but are ok with a 6 year run of no NC. Most schools are in the same boat. I just feel like a 6 year run with highly ranked recruiting classes, NFL draft picks, and what some on here swear is the best coach and wouldn't trade him for anyone, even you know who, and no NC makes me wonder why?? But the next round of NFL talent and awesome coordinators may be different. Who knows. Still didn't it funny that the only NC Les may possibly win as a coach is with Gary Crowton as his OC (the ultimate anti-Miles philosophy). With that said, it's all good and here's to another 13-1 season with no NC within the next 6 years (just kidding).

So you'd be for firing any coach if they didn't produce a NC with "our talent"? And the other talented programs should do the same? Fire 10 and 11 game win coaches? Have you thought this all the way through?

This board is intolerable.

Bama has the best CFB coach in the history of CFB coaches. 50% of posters here don't want to admit that. Then you have another 50% saying we should win a NC every year. What a bunch of dicktards.

The truth is that Miles can make huge blunders at times, but no program in the SEC has been as consistently competitive in the SEC the last 10 years than LSU with Miles.

You Have Bama and Saban. Then you have LSU and Miles. The rest are all up and down with their success.

I've said it many times, but will say again, if Saban wasn't at Bama, LSU has at least 1 more and possibly 2 more NCs under Miles. It just is what it is.

Be happy with 10 wins....that's the new mantra around here these days....to state otherwise is considered politically incorrect.
