I've never understood the food truck fascination, here, there, or anywhere. The food is generally average, not necessarily cheap, and you have to eat standing up in most scenarios with none of the creature comforts of a real restaurant. Its basically mobile wedding food. No thanks.

In some places (not BR), the food trucks come to you, which is nice. They're great for little events and fundraisers where a live band plays and a couple food trucks show up to provide the food and the organizers just set up a booth to sell drinks. However, there were legit reasons for the fascination with curbside and Dolce de Vita. The food was absolutely incredible and was unmatched by any restaurants in the area.

It can be okay in some instances. For example, there's a truck outside of Radio every night. There's no other food in the area, so that's nice for the drinkers.
Three Bones partnered up with Uncle Earls so now both are profiting: Three Bones actually has clientele that they didn't have while parked in that random lot.. and Uncle Earls gets business when they'd normally be empty.
All that said, I have no idea how successful it's been.
Also: A food truck downtown by your office building is nice because we don't have a ton of downtown options. Also not bad outside a large office building elsewhere: The Advocate, hospital, etc.
Traffic on Bluebonnet, Essen, Siegan, etc. is awful at lunchtime.

I would say Austin Food Trucks have very good and in a few cases fantastic food at reasonable prices. There is always a place to sit. Just got back from there and had great meals at 4 different trucks.

It doesn't fit your lifestyle. For me it's awesome. Roll out of Tips and need something to eat at 1 am what are my options ? Walk to 45 Tchoup, Ms, Maes, or Le Bon Temps, and hit up a food truck.
