Not expert but that sounds liver related. Get her checked out.

When people experience bleeds in the upper gastrointestinal tract, blood can enter the stomach and the enzymes in the stomach break it down, turning it dark brown or black. This causes black vomit. Some reasons for bleeds can include prolonged vomiting leading to tears in the esophagus, tumors, kidney disease, alcoholism, a ruptured ulcer, internal trauma, and hemorrhagic diseases like yellow fever. Certain medications can also contribute to the development of bleeds, especially when combined with other drugs or used with herbal supplements.

Black or coffee ground appearing vomit usually means presence of blood. If that is the case, take her to the hospital yesterday.

Does it look similar to coffee grounds? Is there a noticeable odor? Could be a GI bleed. There's a good chance you're gonna end up in an ER with her. I hope everything ends up well

Although coming to the OT for medical advice is stupid... Your answer shows that you are a real arse. I hope you get AIDS.

She drinks too many diet cokes

You're doing the right thing. Once the OT gives you her diagnoses, go to the Dr and tell him what she has that way he doesn't have to even see her. He can just write a script and send you on your way.

bullshite junior.
All bleeding stops eventually. Old ER joke. Go to doc. ER will be an NGT. I would want a positive guiac card on my vomit before I let someone throw down an NG tube.

Did she take any Pepto Bismol when her stomach was upset before vomiting?
Bismuth will cause vomit and diarhea to turn black. Very black, like licorice black.
