Booking a condo last minute on the gulf coast

If I decide to take a quick 3 night vacation on the gulf coast (Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Pensacola or Destin), is vrbo.com still my best bet for finding a good deal on a rental? TIA

vrbo
try and contact the owner by email to see if they will cut you a better deal on the place since it is last minute. Sometimes they are willing to do so because they would rather rent the place for something than nothing.

All 3 of our properties on vrbo are booked solid through mid-september
Good luck.
Good luck.

Yeah, but if you don't have time, just book through Brett Robinson to stay in Orange Beach.
Very few good deals this week or next though.

Hard part might be finding a place that doesn't require a week long rental.
Seriously, you might consider a hotel (nice) for that length of stay.

Yeah, I would imagine the condos, especially over the weekends are booked pretty solid through labor day.
In Orange Beach there is a decent somewhat new Hampton Inn.
In Pensacoula Beach, there is a nice Hilton.

depends on when, and what kind of rental. A lot of them will need you to rent for more than 3 days if you are going peak time of the year. They dont like to break up those 7 day blocks.

I'm thinking about doing the same for the 4th

if you can find something, yes it will likely be better pricing than going directly through a resort or condo, but I wouldn't want to deal with the hassle.
I'd just start calling resorts/hotels in the area and see who has something available. It would cost me a bit more but I don't want to spend hours on VRBO emailing/messaging owners.

It's not about better prices, its about staying in a house by yourself. Condos and hotels for beach vacations are for poors.

No...it's about price, as in the OPs question:

Good to know. OP didn't ask you though.

VRBO has never been the place to find a good deal, but again I always filter out condos and the like. Priceline if you want a good deal last minute and want to stay in a hotel.

He's just letting OP know it's damned near impossible to find a condo for less than 7 days on a weekend during peak season last minute.
Like someone else said, his best bet for a short stay like that is a hotel. Beware though, you're looking at $250-$300/night.

Try places like the Beach Club in Gulf Shores/Ft. Morgan.
Three night minimum stay with availability right now, but you will need to call.
LINK
Right next to Gulf Shores Plantation which has Kiva Dunes for Golf. On-site dining, pool side music nightly, games for kids, etc and secluded from the public areas and other resorts so the beach isn't as crowded.
This is just an example. Hopefully you get lucky and find something quick on VRBO, I just wouldn't bother.
