I don't post here often, I am an admitted lurker...but for all of you out there, just know that you only get one mother and one father.

Regardless of what your relationship with either of them may be, it can never be replaced and should be cherished.

Avoid having regrets at all cost.

Suck that you had to put him in hospice. Never an easy decision. Prayers for your family.

Prayers sent. I know it's hard, but know that he is receiving EXCELLENT care. I've had a few relatives go into hospice and those people are angels on earth.

When it comes to taking care of the final stages Hospice is a wonderful ministry. Enjoy what time you have left and cherish the life you've shared!

I am a young man I'm my mid 20's. No doubt. Having said that both of my parents are in their mid 60's. They have their fair share of medical issues. So even though my dad calls me everyday to explain everything he does from sun up to that point. I may get aggravated sitting on the phone for an hour. I'm smart enough to know that one day I'll be wishing he could call me up to talk my ear off. You really can never spend enough time. I have met plenty of people who shite on their parents. Whether it be just blatant cursing them out or just taking advantage of them. My mind can't even fathom how this is possible. Stay strong brother

My Dad went on Hospice last week. He signed the papers himself. The decline has been hard on everyone. I know how you feel.

My dad passed away in December at the age of 50. He was my best friend and the biggest LSU fan I've ever known. He was a poster on Tigerbait since 2003 under the name "abellsu".(that's where I got "abellsujr", I would check in under his account now and then) He knew every player, number, and ranking out of high school. We talked literally DAILY about LSU. Sometimes we agreed , sometimes we didn't, but he was just as passionate about LSU as I was. Since then, it hasn't been easy for me to talk about sports with anyone, not my brothers or anyone else. Until I started posting on this site. It's great to find people just as passionate about the tigers as he was and I am. Eventually my wife will let me spend the money and get a tigerbait account, but I might not get one, I like this one better.

I wrote this within the first few months of my fathers death.I understand what you're going through and I'll always be hear for you, man.
