Any reason he couldn't get a job at McDonalds or Burger King? Would provide him a steady check and he could at least get a place to put his head at night...
no photo ID, no address, no SSN, no job, no hope
plus most of those guys are too incapacitated to work a regular job

I think laziness is the medical term for it.

But yes there are things he could probably do but every homeless person generally has individual reasons for being where they are. It could be depression, substance abuse, some random medical condition, mental health issues, or a criminal record.
You have to say that he is probably ready for a change by giving his name and waving over a reporter. Props to him for putting his name out and putting a face on the issue. .

He says he works construction jobs at minimum wage. How much do you think a fast food job pays? Enough for an apartment? Maybe. Enough for food, clothes and transportation? No.

Well, if there are other factors that he won't talk about, like drug addiction, then that would be something that could hold him back from steady employment.
I have no clue what's got him at this stage, but I'm sure there were some wrong turns along the way. Hopefully Tiger nation can pull together and find this guy something to keep him out of harms way. We stress on here constantly how it pays to stay in-state and play at LSU...let's prove it

And Jesus said to them, "I command unto you: dismiss and disparage the homeless. They are looking for handouts and probably like being homeless. Survival of the fittest is the only route into heaven."

Seriously? $9 an hour x 40 hours minus taxes/soc sec. = 800 a month...
