Yikes. 20 pages single spaced. Thats ALOT of writing even with a a template to guide you.

On the plus side I came away with full credit on the application forum for module 2.

Anyone on here in MADM 752? This weeks reading is terrible...

Where does it say that it needs to be single-spaced? I must have missed that. Please let me know... :)

DarthPasta it is in her reply to a student in the second discussion post of the project forum. Not sure if it says it anywhere else.

MKT701: Her reply to the "Proper Structure for Project" topic seems to be referring to the Application Forum requirements. (Question 1, etc..)

I'd guess the Project should be double spaced given her instructions in it are double spaced. I'd presume we're only turning project in via MS Word and not pasting to the message board/forum.

That post reads to me like the student is asking specifically about forum assignments, see the question here, "I am curious if any of you know if we should answer the forum assignment questions numerically as...."

I would assume James' response to single spacing to be attributed to the forum, not the project, despite the question being asked in the project forum.

And per the Part 1 template, this language is included on the bottom of page 6 "NOTE: please do NOT change your paper to reflect the margins and single spacing format shown below. Erase this instruction." I think the project is double-spaced folks...

One other note, to give out a detailed 6-page monologue about the project halfway through the allotted time to complete part 1 is pretty lame, I had already written some that now needs to be changed to reflect these new "rules".

When I took MKT 701 with James back in Summer 2016, the project was definitely double-spaced. I just went back and checked. So I'm very confident she's still looking for double-spacing.

Thank you

You guys are right. The project is double spaced. Sorry for the confusion.

fishee2 I agree, I'm not down with these fluid instructions.

but the template is double spaced. Our papers are to be single spaced with blank lines between paragraphs.

Thanks everyone for the correction - I came to right my wrong. The final project in MKT 701 is to be double spaced. I checked with Dr James. Sorry for any confusion.

Just finished MKT701 Exam 3. No more difficult than first 2 IMO. Just skimmed over the readings this week to allow for more project time.

I agree with @sarahming. I just took the MKT701 exam to try to carve out time for this project, and it's about the same difficulty as the others.

I am so done with this class.

I have a high A at the moment, and I'm not sure I'm going to pass this stupid class thanks to impossible deadlines and insanely high standards on trivia by my grader, Mr. APA himself.

I’m not even currently in this class and I’m dreading it. *sigh* looks like August is going to be a sad sad time. I would definitely recommend any newcomers to start with this class FIRST!

@mtntreks Sorry that completely sucks with APA. I'm 100% with you being over this course. I'm completely bullshi##ing the project. I've looked high and low for some information looking through LSUS Library resources and finding absolutely nothing

She's putting all these new "rules" yet isn't going to even look at the projects. As someone alluded above, she should have given these new "guidelines/rules" at the beginning. I haven't found my grader/coach to be unfair (or nitpicking APA) so far. I'd be pretty livid with APA nitpicking

The material is structured much much better (and the exams are fair), but I've pretty much tuned her out like Wren with MADM715. Just 4 more weeks but who is counting...

mtntreks that sucks about the academic coach I'm sorry. That is one thing about this program that has bothered me. I've never had a super nitpicky one but i've heard horror stories. Having inconsistent academic coaches is not fair to the students.

I overthought the first MKT701 exam and then aced the second. The exams are not that bad, its the writing.
And really this class is not that different from almost every other qualitative class in the program. Reading...exam/quiz...writing assignment...repeat for 7 weeks. What IS killer are the two big writing projects that she makes you do over the course of the 7 weeks.

To those who haven't taken it don't be that scared by it but definitely try to take the class by itself. James is a good instructor and very present but its hard for me to know what she wants and she really complicates things.

But hey were almost halfway done already! Hang in there everyone!

@Marssmi MKT701 I'd advise waiting to take it in hopes James isn't teaching it! It's what I did but didn't work out. :( Had I taken it as my first class with James I probably wouldn't even be in the program right now

The exams/readings are fine it's the project that's just a complete cluster.

craig_miamifl I was trying the same strategy with MKT701. Now I'm having to double up to finish when I want. I made a really terrible decision lol.

The MKT Project seems like a PITA but it's really not that bad. I took the class in the spring and wrote the first part after Mardi gras (in 2 days) and got an A in the class so if I could do that then anyone one of you taking the class now can achieve an A. Yes the project is annoying but Karen James is a good teacher in this MBA program.

Yeah I'm not stressing with the project. What was your topic for the project last term? We're given a solar blanket.

I haven't been able to find a whole lot of pertinent info with it. I'm just winging it and hoping for the best. If an A, great. If not, I'll live with it because marketing simply isn't my cup of tea. I get the impression if you simply just make an effort to complete all the heading/subheadings that you'll do fine. I can't imagine these coaches know much more about solar than many others in the class.

My first semester of the program Darrat taught it. I was registered then I dropped (have no idea why). I could just kick myself for it now. Ah well, I’ll survive
