Winchester12 do you recall if your co-worker said whether or not ISDS 705 involved any math? From reading on it in the description, it seems like there's no math involved at all

Roanoke I don't think it involves math. From what I understood it was just 4 tests on the reading material. I'll get some details tomorrow morning and post them here so people can have a better understanding of the course.

JJ121 thanks for the post about Accounting 701, can you provide some other details about that class? I haven't heard much about it.

Also, if anyone has already taken Vines last finance 701 test i would appreciate some feedback. My schedule and motivation have made this last module 4 a real struggle.

Hey Paul,

I'm taking MADM 760 & MADM 751 with Meeks to finish up the program. Do you have any spare notes left from either of these classes?

Anything will help, I'm very excited as I see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Thank You very much Winchester, I thought as much but I wanted to be sure. Looking forward to reading about the details that you will have gathered. I'm right there with you on Vine's last test, I'm sure it'll mostly be qualitative based on how long his reading guide for this module is, but I'm in no rush to take it

I'm with jj121, I just finished acct and found it super easy. I thought it was easier than BADM 700. I paired acct and FIN 701 in the same session and felt it was a good match. Winchester, it's through cengage and you have weekly assignments (3 check your work) and 3 multiple choice tests, 35 questions each.

I have a question for anyone who's already taken ECON 705 form Shaughnessy. Does he require that you have the online access version of the textbook or is a PDF copy of the textbook sufficient. I'm asking because the online access card is $125 and the PDF copy of book is $30.

Unfortunately I don't. 760 was the first class I took back in August of 2015 with Dr. Bigler who is no longer at the university. I don't have any notes from 751 either, but don't fret, it's an enjoyable and fairly easy class. Lots of writing though, but interesting.

Did you take ISDS 702 with Hayati?

lsusports was pretty accurate. Ambrosio is an adjunct who is operating out of the West Coast. His ACCT701 class for Spring Session 1 (2017) involved Text Reading, Homework and Exams.

Each week you cover 2 chapters. Each chapter has 4-5 assignments, and each assignment has 1-5 questions. Its either multiple choice or fill in the blank. Fill in the blank is usually math related, but its elementary math. You also get 3 "check your work" attempts. If you can't get an answer right with 3 tries and then a submit.... its not the course. On the off chance that you do get a question wrong twice, just wait 2 days and someone will ask the same question as you, and someone else will answer it, likely Prof. Ambrosio. He actually told people to stop overthinking things and just gave people the answer.

For the exams, its 35 multiple choice (1 attempt) and we started with 50 minutes per exam, but people complained and he bumped it to 75 minutes. Frankly, 50 minutes was plenty, but the extra time didn't hurt. There is virtually NO MATH on the exams.

The only chapter homework that deviated from this was the last, it was LONG, but SUPER EASY.

Prof. Ambrosio answered questions nearly 24 hrs a day, but honestly, the most common question was whether people should use 1 or 2 decimal points in answers. That was literally 75% of the questions asked.

Hope this helps.

socal, I don't recall Shaughnessy requiring the online component. I actually used an international textbook that I picked up for like 10 bucks. It was identical.

I spoke with a co-worker this morning who had Lin for ISDS 705. He said you read certain chapters each week and then have a mid-term and then read another certain amount of chapters each week and then take a final test. No math, no calculations. Test were 60 minutes I think. In his opinion it was an easy class and he got an A. Seems easier and less stressful to me than ISDS 702. Anyone who registered for it for AP2 please provide some feedback.

Thanks Winchester... I didn't think there was any math involved with that course, nice to have confirmation on it. With LSUS now seemingly moving towards proctoring, it's possible but my understanding is that it's all at the teachers discretion. I know 751 seems to have it now & that Mkt 701 is now using it also which is a bummer because now I'm going to have to go to the library to take these stupid tests as the camera in my setup at home can't be moved without me having to rearrange my entire setup & I'm personally not going to buy a laptop just to take a test

Anybody take test 4 with vines yet? If so, what should I focus my last minute review on? Thanks!

wolfpack I'm hoping for some feedback on the test as well! Out of all 4 tests I'm most nervous about this one! Someone on the class discussion did say it was easier than test 3 but I guess it all depends on what random questions you get.

Thanks for the info on 705 Winchester.

I took Vines test this morning. I had 3 math problems and 7 short answer. The problems were all on firm value. Easily answerable if you did the Practice problems. All but one of my short answer questions could be answered from the guide alone.
I personally dislike the short answers. I'd rather have 10 math problems but my background is accounting... so I deal with numbers all day and write very little.

Hayati seems to be better than Lin from what I've researched.

I've heard Hayati's tests are all multiple choice.
