Galaxy S3 Battery issues

I got my SG3 about 18 months ago. Recently I've noticed it's taking it quite a while to charge on the wall charger, but battery life has been consistent until today.
I took my phone off the charger at 945am this morning with 100% battery. In my car about 90 minutes later, I heard the dreaded low battery "bleep-bleep." Nothing was running, no nav, maps, music, I wasn't even using it (i.e., the screen was off). Any one have similar issues?
I just ordered a new battery and wall charger which will be in on Monday, but for now it's looking like it may need to stay plugged in all weekend.

Install cyanogen mod 11 (it's an easy install where you just click buttons). Your battery life will be exponentially better. It pulls off all Samsung bloatware and TouchWiz. Additionally, it gives you the ability to turn off cellular data from the quick settings bar. You will still get calls and texts and can turn it on occasionally to check email or play stuff like Words with Friends. It gave my S3 a new lease on life. I was having battery issues and was ready to get rid of the phone.

I bought my S3 in Oct. 2012 and I have the same problems. I think the charging port is messed up, but don't want to take it apart. I might try the mod install.

I went and bought an old style charger from walmart, just one piece not the wall plug and micro usb cable, and it charges my phone super fast. I was having the same problem with my s3 until I found this charger.
I even have a brand new battery for it sitting right beside me because I was about to replace it when I found this charger.

Before you do all the CM mod stuff, order an anker charger. I offered a couple of others that didn't charge my phone at all or they were slow. This one works fast. I ordered this one because I have an iPad too. It's had to do with the amount of amps or something.

Also download battery doctor and set it up to run on start up and when the phone wakes up. I also run it randomly throughout the day. I'll leave work and have 60% or so, where I use to be dead.
Here is a link to that program

Stuff like Google plus and Samsung stuff runs all the time and you don't know. This app stops those from draining battery
