That would be a nasty big 3. Lebron paired up with Chris Paul and a true center in Blake Griffin. Hope that doesn't happen.

Probably.

I don't see Love going to the Clippers, although that's just a gut feeling. I also think LeBron stays in Miami. If he goes anywhere, he ends up in Cleveland. Laugh if you want . . . just watch.

The idea would have to be flipping Lee or Pekovic if they made that deal, most likely Pekovic since he's got a longer contract and I don't think there will be many takers on Lee.

Flipping Pekovic potentially saves them about $48m in salary over 4 years.

They send out the best player (by far) in the deal, get little cap relief and perhaps a late first.

Thompson is good, but he's not max good. David Lee is the real problem though. Lee is considerably worse than Love at everything and is paid roughly the same amount over the next two years. If they have to include Lee there needs to be more sweetener than just Thompson. Love is easily a top 10 player in the league. This would be a quarter and a dime for a dollar.

I would look for young players and picks if I were Flip. A Boston offer seems the best to me, though Cleveland might be more desperate to deal now that Embiid is riskier. Parker would be a nice fit.

While rebuilding after losing your franchise player and Rubio is still so young seems like the logical course, for the first time since Garnett left the team looked like it was heading out of lottery hell. I doubt they want to hit the reset button now that the fans are just getting back into the team.

The fans probably know Thompson/Lee for Love/Martin isn't getting them into the playoffs in the West. If they couldn't do it last year with an absurd season from Love, it isn't happening without him.

the eventual trade of Kevin Love hasn’t left me devastated or annoyed or angry. It’s just been something that we all knew was a possibility when David Kahn put the Wolves in the situation of three years with an opt out.

But there is a big difference between a 39 win team and a 25 win team. With a 39 win team you get to fool yourself into thinking if you get the right breaks you can make it until about the last month of the season. The Wolves blogger brings up a valid point, does Flip want to coach a rebuild? This all could be posturing too. You have enough teams bidding that you can get everyone's best deal on the table. Boston was in the lead 4 days ago, Denver 2 days ago, Golden State today. Cleveland's probably next, maybe the Embid injury will make Cleveland more serious about going after Love once they've got their new coach's contract settled.

I really like Lee and think he gets paid right at what he should be. He is a top 10 PF and a former all star. One of the rare 20/10 guys in the league. He isn't as good as Love, but he isn't horrible and it's not a bad contract. I think he can be flipped pretty easy, if they really just wanted the room. I kind of think you are underselling him here.

I don't think Love wants to go to either place. Those might be better value, but if isn't down for it then it's not going to happen..

I can see him going to Boston because Ainge has put a winner together before.

Cleveland, though? N*gga, please. They couldn't keep Luol Deng happy for more than two weeks. No way that Kevin Love stays there longer than he has to.

All they need is for him to opt in. He will not sign an extension with anyone.

If he's smart, he'll go to the East. Kyrie, Love, Varejao in the East is a playoff core. Blatt is a good hire. Gilbert is still a shitshow though.

Hhmmm...Interesting to say the least...I wonder what type of deals we could possibly be looking into.
