Tanzania is just barely south of the equator, they don't really have summers or winters. It's either rainy or dry season.
but it will still be cold at night. I've been on a real safari - great country. If you're a hunter then you need to pull off a hunt. Dar is a shithole, so don't spend anytime there.

I'm asking for some newlywed friends of mine. They're going there for their honeymoon by year's end sometime. I think Kilimanjaro is definitely on their list and they have the acclimation advantage of having lived in Breck at 9600' for the past 10 or so years and are avid hikers around Colorado's mountains. Kilimanjaro is obviously higher than any of CO's 14ers, but it would be much easier for them than most people that don't have the advantage of already living at elevation. I would love to take a shot at summiting one of the 7 summits.
I've heard about that crater from someone else and supposedly it has some of the best wildlife viewing around.
