Does the direction that the new stadium faces and the wind have that much to do with the lack of home runs? Serious question.

I think it's this.

I also heard, think it was from Hanagriff, that even the minor league club that plays there has yet to hit a HR from straight away center.

Bring the fences in a little bit or liven up the bats some.

There's a trifecta at play working against offenses in this park.

1) The fences are deep as hell.
2) The stadium is built in a hole essentially, the exact opposite of the Blatt on the hill.
3) The stadium is faced against the normal wind direction, which in Omaha is huge since it's often owing 15-25+ MPH out in tornado alley.

Also, you can add that there's acres of foul territory at TDA.

Well to be fair, homeruns are to straight away center are pretty rare in any park with the new bats, but that's pretty ridiculous

Yep. I was there tonight and it was a hard wind almost directly in all night. Maybe a little from left center.

Blatt was always out.

Minor league teams use wooden bats and the team that plays in TDAP have more talent and bop than the players playing in the CWS.

TDA isn't the home field for any minor league baseball teams.

Just going by what I heard Hanagriff say on the radio. I don't know if they are or not.

I thought it was the home field for some team but I can't remember who at all.

I was thinking like LSU=Champions, if there's a minor league team there, they should have more guns at the plate.

Would some of these problems been avoided if the field faces the opposite direction? That way the wind would normally be blowing out than blowing in?

Too late now.

The stadium has the same dimensions as Rosenblatt.

And? They never played with these shite bats at the old park.

The old park was on a bluff and the wind blew out.

The new park is in low lands and the wind blows in.

They need to move the fences in. Along with changing the ball.

I know this gets discussed every year, but I wonder how long before people get tired of the lack of home run production and start looking at other venues for the World Series.

bullshite

They had a college HR Derby in the same park last year with the old bats. Balls were flying out with ease. It's not the park. It's not the wind. It's the shitty bats/balls.

Yeah, so you think, if the field was built on the side of a mountain, and all the ground balls rolled into left field, that'd be just fine, because they're all playing on the same field?

Please give us the details of that homerun derby. How many total homeruns were hit?

And changing the balls wont be enough to help this park, the fences also need to be brought in 15 feet all the way around.
