An independent group is launching a national anti-redskins ad campaign starting during tonight's NBA finals game.

I think we need to take the focus off of this and put it onto something that is actually important...something that matters. No one has given a shite for how many years? Why all of a sudden in the last 4 months has this become an issue?

Redskin was never a derogatory term. In fact, it was a badge of honor. The name came about by a group of native American football players who played for the Redskins near when the team was formed. They came up with the nickname and it stuck. They should not be forced to change it by anyone unless the Redskins' organization decides it wants to.

Everybody ask yourself one question, how we'll would it go over if someone decided to start a NFL team in say Alabama and wanted call them the Alabama blackskins,
They could dress mascot up in overalls and call him Jim or Toby .
