heady .... keep an eye on our calendar and let me know. I would rather walk a few blocks to see shows anyway.

Proud of you, J-Dubs. I know that wasn't an easy decision. M+W was a gem because of all you did for it. Can't wait to see what your next endeavor brings.

Is The Mulligan Brothers show on June 20 going to be moved somewhere else or is it cancelled?

I'm bummed, but honestly can't say I'm shocked.
Correct me if I'm off base here, but I really don't think BR has the market/scene to support Mud & Water on top of venues like Chelsea's that are in more "desirable" locations and Spanish Moon that is already so established. There just aren't enough people that won't settle for sitting in a shithole like Bogies (I loved Bogies) or seeing some shitty country act or Chee Weez/Molly Ringwalds. As a BR native, I know that the location on South isn't seedy/sketchy or all that difficult to get to, but I understand why masses of LSU students and the like would be apprehensive to go to a show there when they could go to their comfort zone at Chelsea's or Spanish Moon. Kind of a tweener location, to be quite honest.
Bernie Worrell was a perfect microcosm of the problem (granted it was in the middle of finals). There were like 10 people there, while I saw pictures of a packed Kishi Bashi show at Spanish Moon from the same night.
Best of luck, JW. If you keep getting the names you've been getting, you'll do just fine.
