Finished high school mid term and didn't have any better thing to do in my life at the time. I didn't want to go back to school, so I join the Marine Corps at 17. One of the best things for me at the time. Got out, got married and went back to school. I was ready to settle down at 21 years old and able to take the world on.

I've been reading up on joining the JAG. Looks almost impossible to get in.
Check out jagcnet, it gives you step by step directions for Army JAG, active, reserve or guard.

and once you're inside the circle of trust, you can GTFO of the Army and get into a respectable branch
jk, of course, but once you get your foot in the door, it's not impossible to go from one branch to another

My daughter almost went that way, but as a Dad, I talked her out of it. In the times we live in, I served and there is no reason why one of my kids should unless there was a problem at HOME!

Nope, 6 1/2 years active duty.
I hate the guard and reserve just as much as the next guy, but you are spewing straight garbage.

.However, my argument has been against the guys who claim Katrina, etc. as their deployments
You better go back and read your posts. You have been an arse to anyone that wasn't in a combat zone.

Just to rub a little salt in the wound here.
I'm finally getting out of the Marine Reserves. One weekend a month is a pain in the arse so I'm joining the Air National Guard where we drill quarterly. That's right. I just have to show up once every three months. For my troubles I will be going back to school with tuition exemption on top of my post 9/11 GI Bill. The wars are over too so I'll probably never have to deploy.

Do you count the 18 months that the 256th (LA National Guard) spent in Iraq as being deployed?
Were you in the 256th? I was in 1-156 HHC.

Ban worthy, flame attack, fricked up post imho...people died...it was an attack on an American ship at anchor...I served with some who were on Cole...not something to joke about...I RA'd
I admit it was bad. I was outing a hater of fellow servicemen. I felled to look up which ship was in the pic. The dead and injured deserve all the honors I can give them. My past entries will attest to this.

Thanks. I was flaming Grammerboy and made a grevious mistake. I cannot those people on that ship enough ... and I have the highest respect for the Navy. I only wish our fellow servicemen had that same respect for soldiers taking care of their assigned duties..

Yeah man. The Corps has no place for me anymore now that my unit has switched to Motor T. They won't retrain me because I'm too senior and they won't pay for my travel to the nearest grunt unit with an open billet because I'm too junior. And I'm not paying for my own plane ticket every month. Not going total pog though. Got a slot with the TACP unit here in LA. Should be kinda cool.

It was more in reference to him thinking that there is no threat to the Navy..
Try sticking to what you did. You rode around in a boat but have the audacity to be critical of people that don't meet your idea of what is dangerous.
