And so it begins:

Filmmakers who were targets of an undercover sting operation by James O'Keefe have filed a criminal complaint with police and have asked the FBI to determine whether federal laws were broken when the journalist surreptitiously recorded phone calls and a lunch meeting, a spokesman for movie producers Josh and Rebecca Tickell said Wednesday.
"I can confirm that this matter has been reported to federal and local law enforcement for investigation of whether certain state and federal laws were violated," said Jonathan Franks, a managing partner at Lucid Public Relations.

This is not surprising. I would not be surprised if Eric Holder got involved in this. Can't have citizens spying and recording people. That's his job.

Project Veritas exposing the hypocrites and their little conspiracies.

Soooooo, it's OK for someone else in California to surreptitiously record otherwise private conversations then release them to the public, but it's not OK for O'Keefe to do it to self-important blowhards from Hollywood.
Got it.
Got it.

Uh oh he gonna have the full weight and force of the soviet.......I mean federal government coming down on his tiny ant like person. Crushed like piece of ice Expect him to soon die an unexpected death like his predecessor Breitbart

I think what he is exposing is important but he very well may be breaking laws to do so. I do believe that you can't pick & choose which laws to enforce.

No he didn't he was in a public place, a hotel lobby when he recorded or filmed the meeting.
Recording a private conversation isn't against s federal law, else Romney's private recording has to be prosecuted ( 47%)
It astounds me how liberals hate sting operations but loved all of them when the liberal press were doing them.

I thought recording law varied state to state. Does California consider a restaurant a public place, thus there is no expectation of privacy? Does California require both parties to be aware of phone call recordings? I believe it does. If so, he broke the law if he didn't tell the other person on the call that, it was being recorded. Also, the public place exclusion may not pply if he were a party to the conversation, only a bystander.

The people at that table are so spineless and wormy. Not one of them had the guts to tell the Saudi oil man that he's part of the problem and we don't want your money. This tells me they really have on conviction.
Hypocrite is not strong enough for this kind of behavior. These people are swindlers, no better than the hustlers who sell cars they know to be crap to the stupid and gullible.

I like some of the stuff O'Keefe has been doing. However, I also see him as a Grade-A douche.
After his stunt at Landrieu's office, you'd think he'd wise up a bit.

Regardless, those were paid actors that recorded and lured that conversation.
I can see the actors getting in trouble but not O"Keefe.

you're dealing with a pretty libertarian board, so people running to fedgov to prosecute a person who simply recorded the truth is going to upset some folks. this is completely ignoring the whole, "if this was a statist doing it to libertarians, there would be no threat of prosecution"

Nah, just say frick the Hollywood scum. They have taken to doing a better job of black listing their fellows in the shithole if they expouse conservative thoughts in the shithole.

Backstory?
So did these two record private conversations previously and release them for their own benefit?

If O'Keefe were put his cameras in a "conservative's" home, and tape someone using the "N" word, he could quickly earn a breakfast with the Obamas.
