I am just saying that stats do not tell the whole story.

As they say, stats are like a bikini. What they reveal is interesting, but we are more interested in what they don't reveal.

Or something like that.

People say this but I disagree. We forced those turnovers

most of them...I think it was Harvin just dropped the ball with no contact on one play.

I don't care though...great win, but I can understand how tough a loss that must have been for Vikes fans...

The difference in the game wasnt just turnovers but when they happened. Couple times on their own side of the field that led to saints touchdowns and a couple time going in for scores. And I course the one at the end of regulation.

Like I always tell my buddy who says Minnesota was better...the better team doesn't turn the ball over 5 times

It was a favre to Peterson exchange. Reggie had just muffed the ball and gave it to them around our 10

We were the best team in the NFL in 2011. :( The worst play in that game was the kickoff that Roby dropped, kicked, then tried to advance and fumbled it

No doubt. I get over losses pretty easy, but that SF game still hurts

They were loaded on offense

Rice, Harvin, AP and Favre

Their D is what cost them and the turnovers

That was the Favre fumble on the exchange to Peterson(they put it on Favre, not Peterson).

Peterson had 2 fumbles, neither lost. Harvin, Favre, and Berrian all had 1 fumble and lost them. Darius Reynaud had 1 but didn't lose it. That's 6 fumbles with only 3 lost. Favre also had 2 picks.

I believe the Favre fumble was the only one not forced(both Peterson fumbles, the Harvin fumble, and the Berrian fumble all were; unsure on the Reynaud fumble).

Brees had 2 but lost neither. Bush had 1 and lost 1.

Like I said, we forced those turnovers and won that game. It was not given to us.

Absolutely.

A similar thing happened to us in San Fran 2 years later. We played well enough to win despite being on the road, suffering key injuries and turning the ball over 5 times. Gut-wrenching loss.

I hate even thinking about that game. fricking hurt PT early on... sooo many Turnovers and lost it late

We were so fricking good that year...we would have steamrolled the Giants in the dome and fricked Tom Brady in the SB

Thing is, we made sure we earned that win by winning it all. Fortunately for us and our bitter wounds, San Francisco didn't win it all...

We did not have a lot if total yards that game. I think it was the least amount that season. The reasons are we started our drives with good field position very often. We also couldn't convert a 3rd and short to save our lives that game.

The defense earned most if those turnovers. They were giving up some yards but they were playing very physical. That's why we won.

Most people forget to add in special team yards for the Minnesota game. We had 183 yards to their 48 yards. That is a 135 yard advantage for us right there.
