I know I'm weird, but to this day I can't watch the highlights/replays of this game. Even though I know it ends happily for us, it still just gives me too much anxiety.

yeah, usually I'm just goofing off during games and having fun but I was nervous during that last drive where Minnesota had the ball.
I kept thinking " Oh God NO, not like this PLEASE!!!!"
but then I remembered... Minnesota had a lot of rotten luck in the postseason too in their franchise history.
a few minutes later Porter picked off Favre

I've been to a lot of football games, but this one was probably the most intense thrilling game I've ever attended.
I honestly can't think of a more stressful/intense moment in my entire life.

It's awesome because somehow after being dominated and out gained all game long, we still somehow found a way to win.
That was a brutal, intense and emotionally draining game to watch. It's easily the most stressful game I've ever watched. The epic change of emotions on the last drive of regulation when the Vikings were driving and then to the porter pick was just unreal, I had to go outside to breathe for a couple minutes. As awesome as winning that game was, I don't think I want to expierence emotion like that ever again in sports. Let's leave it as a once in a lifetime thing.

It clearly was a fluke to win that game. I'm a big proponent of the philosophy that "the best team wins 95% of the time " It was great to be in the 5% that night...

and sucked being the 95% 2 years later

when a team is turning the ball over a lot then yards may not be a good indicator.. where were they turning the ball over at?

We beat them first game of the next season too. It wasn't a fluke.

but thats also what made it so fulfilling.

It was 2 historically cursed teams fighting to see who was more cursed. As a lifelong Saints fan, I'd seen enough of those games go against us. It was finally our turn, dammit.

I always thought if Porter would have kept running down the sidelines instead of cutting it back he would have scored a touchdown. Pick 6 to end the game.
