I'm going to try this here since I did not get much of a response on the OT.

I was thinking about buying the Gopro. Will use it for deep sea fishing, hunting, hiking (in case I see bigfoot), camping, and scuba.

Does anybody have any experience with this product? How good is the audio quality? How heavy is it? Does it bug the crap out of you wearing it? What don't you like?

I will probably feel weird wearing this thing but years later I will be glad that I have some videos.

I've got two I used them a bunch early on. I had to edit out so much unusable material to get snippets to relive the occasion. Then in the moment I started finding myself wondering what I can do with the camera to better capture the moment. Then I find myself saying frick this man enjoy the moment before it's gone . Then I quit bringing it out and things got better. They're great cameras but more trouble than there worth for me. Good luck

The lack of a zoom feature kinda sucks for hunting, but I have gotten some pretty good footage with mine.

I have used it for hunting but it is disappointing. Everything looks far as shite after rewatching but I have some pretty good footage of killing and a lot of footage of bullshitting in the blind. I think it works best offshore fishing I have some badass footage of our last trip offshore including my brothers first yellowfin. Even filmed the fish underwater while he was bringing it up. Very cool. I think just using it offshore is worth it and everything else is a bonus.

They're ok for certain things. Don't expect to start filming your own hunting show for outdoor channel though. They can't compare to an actual professional video camera.

I use mine hawking. I have it set for one button on/off operation. I turn it on and leave it on until I'm done, the battery runs out, or the memory card fills up. That's usually about 2 hours. Depending on how I feel that day, I might put in a fresh battery or memory card and keep it running longer.

Like someone else said though, you can get into the mindset of recording everything and not actually enjoy it while it's happening. I've been guilty of this with the gopro and with my camera.

Poor

Ive got the Hero3 Silver. The black edition may be better.

Sony makes a great adventure cam, it's built more like the Contour. It also has wifi capabilities.

No they are great audio is good as long as you don't use the waterproof case you can mount it on your gun toss it in a lake down a mountain strap it to your dog trust me you will have a blast with it.

My BiL has a couple of them. One of them is a tiny little thing he hangs under his Phantom II Quadcopter on a gimbaled mount. He's done video off of one our sailboats under sail and that shite was absolutely stunning. Flew it off and around a few times and brought it back in knowing it was a goner if it hit the water. But yeah, he says that even with the gimbal mount he still has a hard time getting long enough shots from it without slowing them down.

I have the Hero 3 Silver. The audio seems to be just fine. I've used it while riding a float for Mardi Gras, fishing, hunting, and running a half marathon.

I used the head band during the half marathon and it did not bother me at all.

I have not tried to edit any videos yet.
