That's what I'm thinking. Not only was he definitely getting hit, he'd have that possibility in the back of his mind. Yeah, it was cool and all, but it's easy to go up without any worries when you know you aren't getting touched.

Evans is legit, period.

Our D is still better as a whole than their O, though.

Anyone watch the LSU game,he'll be too busy bitching to ref to make a lot of catches. Also, I doubt he holds and tosses around a proven NFL DB like he did in college. Call me unimpressed. He may get away with it a few times but not many. It won't take long for them to learn his game.

It really is amazing how biased LSU people are towards him because of 1 game. And that 1 game was when Manziel playe his absolute worst. Go watch what Evans did against teams like Alabama and Auburn. And Im as big an LSU fan as there is. But come on man.

And its not that we stopped Evans, its that we stopped Manziel and had him off his game the entire time. He went 16 for 41 against us for 224yards and 1 TD. There were multiple times Manziel missed Evans, including a TD. And Evans still had 4 catches for 51 yards...Not great, but not bad.

Did we play Evans great? As good as anybody did in college? You betcha. But, more importantly, we played Manziel better than anyone else did. QB and WR have a direct relationship. If a QB is getting shut down, so will the WR. We shut down Manziel that day, more so than we did Evans. Because Manziel just flat out missed him a handful of times.

Wont take long for them to learn his game?? Everybody in the NFL knows just about every players style or game... doesnt mean they can stop them. Hes a 6'5 230lbs WR that runs sub 4.5s, very physical player with great hands and a basketball background. You can learn about his game all you want, but sometimes there are factors that come into play that you just cant account for, like size, speed, jump ball ability, etc.

Im not saying hes gonna be the 2nd coming of Megatron or anything like that. But Ive been very impressed with Evans and think hes going to become a really good NFL WR. He really is a Vincent Jackson clone. Majority of LSU fans just think he sucks because of 1 game in the rain where his QB sucked. Kid can play and his game translates very well to the NFL.

I had him rated number 1 over Watkins as the top WR in the draft.

I don't know why I chuckled at this

Cause some idiot sat around and thinks he "rated" a bunch of players? That's why I chuckled.

Watkins is head and shoulders better than Evans IMO. He can take any play and house it. Evans has great athletic ability and speed, but I wouldn't say he has insane explosion like Watkins

They're completely different WRs. Evans isn't in the same ballpark as Watkins when it comes to explosivity.

We'll see how great Watkins is with dopy EJ Manuel as his QB.

Yeah. That's the reason.

Though I don't personally think he's an idiot. Just find it funny when a fan would throw around their personal ranking system like that enhances their point.

All I did was state my opinion. If you disagree that's fine. I wasn't trying to make any other point outside of the Bucs added some pieces that could make that offense hard to deal with.

People get so butt hurt when their opinion differs from someone else's.

Edit:
Reminds me of the Jarvis Jones shite from last year. I kept stating that I thought he would be a bust and caught all kinds of shite for it but I never called someone else an idiot that disagreed with me.

Gotta love this place.

Nice to see you stand up for yourself for once.

But you can ignore Cajun Revolution without losing anything.

this is literally the rule on the books in the NFL now. Literally. Enforced on a weekly basis with both flags and fines by this guy:

It's what I worry about.

I don't know where a receiver stops becoming "physical" and starts pushing off.
It seemed that Evans got away with some stuff in college.

BS..

Evans tried to throw around the LSU DBs and when Robinson and White saw that the referees were going to let them play physical on the outside, they shut him down.... Period

Regardless, I still think Evans is going to be a legit WR before his time's up

that's what they do these days too.

I love how the refs have stayed with the old school mentality.

they really do have such an easy job.

Evans is streaky. Get in his head and he's done for the day. Expect to see him get away with less contact in the league too. That will hurt him considering most of his catches are contested jump balls from college.

He's still a raw route runner, but he's dangerous. Nobody should have him rated higher than Watkins as a pure receiver, but you can get creative with Evans.

You can look at it from the other prospective too though. You said it yourself WR play has a direct relationship to how the QB plays. If the WR isn't open or getting open quick enough then how is the QB supposed to get the ball to him? Double edged sword, my friend.

TB did some good work in the off season and I do think that Evans will be a very good WR in the NFL, but until he gets a legit QB to throw him the ball he won't be to much to worry about.
