Using QBR as a point in an argument

They were both very similar in terms of stats this past year. Smith had more passing yards and TDs but less INTs while kaep had a higher rating and better rushing stats.

Rushing stats need to be included in that comparison as well.

After the 500 rushing yards and 4 tds you left off.

The QBR does a great job of analyzing impact of performance under various conditions. A straight comparison of stats can be misleading.

2013 Post Season Opponents

A Smith - Colts

Colin - Packers, Carolina & Seattle

Are we really comparing those defenses.

They let Jamal Charles handle the running in KC.

I still think Smith got a raw deal. He was undefeated and had the highest QB rating in the entire NFC when lost his job to a concussion.

I think he's easily as good a fit for the Niners as CK was, but with that said I do understand the 49ers decision to move on. Just think that Smith is underrated/underappreciated while Kaepernicus is the opposite.

Kaepernick will never win anything worth while

el oh fricking el

They legitimately were a few plays from winning the Super Bowl two years in a row, but you can say that so matter-of-fact?

Okay, guy.

Yeh, I'm going to lean heavily in favor of an impartial methodology around gathering, analyzing, and indexing data over your analysis.

Sorry.

I stated stats. Which is not an analysis.

did he accidentally post that to you when he meant it for me?

regardless, the QBR is hardly "impartial" and has been a huge arse failure for ESPN

It's not perfect, but it's much better than anything else out there right now.

Any word on Lattimore. Jims reaction when asked about him made it seem like he wasnt ready at all

traditional QB rating is much, much better

...unless you're trying to argue for a mobile QB who needs a bump to make up for his passing flaws

Nothing has solid has leaked out, even to the best beat writers... The first thing I thought when Hyde was drafted was oh shite Lattimore must not have bounced backed like they wanted.

I guess we will all find out this preseason.
