The only way a superstar/big-named player is going to get out of a shite hole is to force his way out.
Issue is, no manager/agent will tell his young player to do that on their rookie contract because of plain fear of public backlash.
They have a brand they can keep for a decade if they continue to improve and make a bigger name for themselves, having a negative opinion of that caliber and you're that young is not a great idea. At least 'melo, CP3, and lebron all waited
