The Lakers management has agreed on bringing back Mike D’Antoni for next season, according to the Orange County Register.
It's probably not what Lakers fans want to hear after his team had the worst year of the franchise based on record. Although, his team missed a whopping 319 games due to injury which led to a total of 35 different starting lineups. Beat writer Kevin Ding added that Lakers management has not met with D'Antoni yet, so there is still more to come on this story.

Why? Kobe doesn't want to play for him. He's clearly awful without Nash/prime Amar'e/Marion.

Makes sense. They wouldn't even sniff the Playoffs with a good coach next season. Might as well bring back D'Antoni, let Kobe jack up 70 shots a game to improve his career point total, & suck to ensure another high lottery pick......well except for the fact that Phoenix owns their first round pick next season. Heh, nevermind.

This motherfricker

The Lakers thinking about keeping him next year is apparently not enough for D'Antoni. He is pushing the Lakers to pick up his option for the 2015-2016 season

According to a person with knowledge of the situation, D'Antoni has some concerns about returning as a lame-duck coach and is pushing for the 2015-16 option to be picked up.

They just need a healthy Kobe to return to the playoffs as an 8th seed

Jerry Buss is doing fricking somersaults in his grave. Oh well, I've had the privilege of watching a lot of really good Lakers squads over the years, so there was bound to be some retribution. I just hope KB24 is back healthy to jack up some shots.
