Why do we still bury our dead?

. Isn't it strange that people will have a funeral for "just bio waste"

I hope you never miscarry or still birth. It's scarring.

Not likely. I'm a father of two who is done having kids.

Regardless, I'm not just talking about fetal bio waste. I don't know why we bury any of our dead.

That's not what they're doing but I'll play along.

Would you not feel strange being warmed by your dead father, mother, children?

No. Why would I? It's not like I killed them for the heat. They were obviously done with their bodies. Seems like making use of the carcasses makes more sense than buying them land, a fancy storage box, and a stone monument.

A lot of women who miscarry look into funeral/memorial services for their loss.

That's one thing to choose that route, but if the mother chooses to just abort and incinerate, does it then matter of where the clinic chooses to incinerate the corpse?

I wouldn't care if the woman (or man) looked into a funeral service for the fetus, either. If that is what is done by that individual (couple?) .. so be it.

But, for those left at the hospital, it is waste.

I know people who make a big deal about their dog's "birthday" and who have 'funerals' for them. That is THEIR choice. It does not obligate anyone else.

You appear to take the position that since a woman may feel a real, deep sense of loss over a miscarriage...that all aborted fetuses should be treated thusly. It is not the real world.

I don't know, it was very comforting to be warmed by them when they were alive.

But you make a valid point. I suggest that you figure out who all is offended by this activity and form some sort of group that will contract to take out all fetuses, while leaving all other body parts/internal organs as well as other hazardous medical waste like scalpels, AIDs needles, proctological examination gloves, colostomy bags and such, from the trash and treat them with the respect you think they deserve.

I'm pretty certain you're free to do this. I don't think government needs to get involved.

not directed at you WT.

I worked for an environmental company and we had to go to the hospital and get rid of(get ready for shipment) all of the bio waste. it is all stored together, appendixes(sp) placenta, and some cases fetuses, and it isnt stored in a climate control building, it is outside in the back in a locked up cage. head to toe tyvec and respirators and we had to drain the fluids in each of the containers that the parts were kept in. i had to distract myself when i knew i was doing one with a fetus.

boy, that job sucked.

JEEBUS!!

You don't incinerate the deceased FOR heat. You incinerate them WITH heat.

This plant is simply utilizing the fact that the heat is THERE and using for an additional purpose.

the bio mass is having heat applied TO it...not extracted FROM it.

This is as if a person who smokes had some stew on a gas stove, bent down to light his cigarette in the flame...and you people saying "he cooked his stew in order to light his cig".
