Last time it was about $175 for the bulk of the materials that you use for the weekend build, then when you get home another $75-125 depending on how you finish it.

I'm going to give it till Sept 10. At that point I will order supplies. That will be the cut off point. It will be the last weekend of Oct. For those that can't make that Friday, y'all can catch up Early Saturday morning. Starting time will be at 7 am each morning till.

For me to order supplies, I will need a deposit of say $150 each. I will order wood, glue, nails and screws. A very good chance that it will be more closer to $175-$200 each. If this works for everybody, jump on board and let me know.

I'm in, fish. But as I said, I'll have to miss Friday. Let me know how to get the money to ya. I'll be coming from Ponchatoula, so if needed I can bring supplies from Acadian Cypress.

For those that want to, yes. It's no big deal if one can't.

Fish, would it be a big deal or setback if I wanted to do a flat back model for a trolling motor?

Some what. Would build it normal and then come back and cut it off. Now building one like a skiff some what, that is a different animal, but still the same process.

Hey Fish

My father-in-law and will be coming in from the Dallas area and we would like to be reasonably sure that we will have it mostly if not all built within the two days, since Sunday will need to be a travel day.

I know there will be a lot going into finishing it based on how you want it, but should we expect it to be basically built on two days?

Thanks

If you know how to use a planner and other power tools, I would say two days is more then enough to get one done. One can finish it at home as for as puttying and sanding, painting.

Work days are long. 8 to 12 hours depending on how I'm doing.

Fish, take a look at my wooden skiff repair thread when you can. May be a page or two back, I paged you in the title. My great uncle built a wooden skiff a long time ago, and he also wrecked it on one side. Give me your opinion on how difficult fixing it may be. Thank you, sir

Hey Fish

Are you saying that you intend to order the supplies for everyone including dealing with the lumber?

That sounds like a lot of extra work for you.

I will be happy to bring along what I need if that is better for you.

I really appreciate the opportunity for this experience. It is most certainly awesome that you offer your time and knowledge to pass along an "art" such as this.

My father in law and I have something similar that we may be able to share with the group.

I would like to chat with you about it to see what you think.

If you PM me your number I will be happy to give you a call.

Thanks

Let us know how to send you the dough, or what we need to buy and bring. Like I said, I'm coming from Ponchatoula, so Acadian Cypress is on my way
