Oh, if you want, I can draw it out on packing paper to the size and mail it to you. All you would have to do is trace it to the wood and cut/build.

that would be awesome...

Prayers that you get to feeling better soon, Fish. Scotch always helped me feel better quickly. Of course, I did end up in AA.

All the best from Team Dong!

fish, have you thought about boxing this type of thing up and selling it?...maybe even include a video tutorial showing the key steps as you make one...

may be a way for you to make a few dollars while sharing your craft with the world...

I been kicking the idea around some. I can offer a full size lay out of the sides and make a set of bow stems and sell that say $20 plus shipping for OB members.

All one would have to do is trace and cut.

Maybe BP could shed some light if he ever finishes the video he was putting together, I could cut him in. If not, in the near future, I will be having my SIL and a nephew over for a build and get my daughter to video the build.

With the cost of medical expense, I sure as hell could use the extra money these days. More then half of my monthly income goes to that now.

Fish looked at the videos again yesterday. Nearly 9 GB of data.

I will have to have someone else edit them and stitch them all together. I have no idea how to do it nor the time to figure it out.

My first guy who said he could do it returned the SD card to me 2 weeks later with a shoulder shrug.

If you do re tape it you need to make sure the audio is good. A lot of the videos you are very hard to hear.

FWIW I think your idea would sell well. Hell people sell patterns for simple box style dog houses on ebay.

Fish. Been watching the thread with keen interest. Living in Missouri now but moving back home to LA in August. I would certainly pay for a set of plans. Always wanted to build one..

Hey guys, how did you all scrape off that extra glue under the rails? I tried with a small putty knife and it's removing the wood too.

A combination of a chisel, sandpaper, angle grinder, orbit sander and just plumb meanness

ETA: got mine hung up under the carport this weekend, wife bought me 2 badass cypress paddles , got them stained and one coat of varnish this weekend also

Yeah I think i will need to flip it over and break out all of my tools.

Did any of you use a planer to finish off the top rails as well?

In spots I used a planer, but my rails were pretty even with the sides (thanx Sunday crew) I mostly used an orbital sander to round them off and fine tune the height

Yeah, I was expecting to do the rails, imagine my surprise when I picked up the boat and rails were on it and seats in it.

Thanks to all the Sunday guys.

eng use good eye protection with that glue chiseling. It tends to shatter off.

anytime...

we are eventually going to finish CDaniels and DaHammers pirogues in Folsom...just waiting for them to set a date to see if I can make it...

I would Imagine the more the merrier, but anyone interested would have to ask Hammer as it will be done at his place...
