Only in Louisiana is this boom welcomed and anticipated. One day people will wake up and realize that the rich take advantage of those without power and money. That's what's happening in Louisiana. People need money, so they sell their environment and health to the devil.

Cancer Alley just got bigger and wider. And those whose environment and health it injures are welcoming it with open arms.

Have you ever been in a large manufacturing facility?

You and I both know the answer to your question. He's uninformed on the topic, but will gladly inject his uninformed (incorrect) views into said topic.

By far the biggest polluters of the environment are the cities, townships and villages and the citizens within. I'm in the large manufacturing facilities a lot and they are almost ridiculous in their safety and environmental rules and you will be quickly barred with no recourse if you are found to be a careless contractor or employee. Believe you me, the government is on their arse big-time and they know it and have responded over the last 30-35 years or so.

Much of this "Cancer-Alley" is caused by personal consumption choices of the citizens who reside there. The over-whelming majority of the pollution of the environment is caused by its citizens - not the chemical plants and oil refineries. But that is an inconvenient truth I suppose. It is much easier to point the finger at the big iconic corporations who, by employing the citizens, have greatly improved the standard of living here in Louisiana over the last 100 years.

This would be a start: U.S. Eyes European Safety Standards for Oil Refineries

Having spent the better part of 3 years working in Europe making chemicals just a few years ago, I can tell you that we are every bit as safe (or safer) and more environmentally friendly to boot. The smoke billowing from their refineries and the amount of flaring they do is much greater than at our refineries.

They may talk a good talk, but they don't walk the walk.

Maybe if it were just one article, but a Google search brings up multiple articles stating the same thing and from very reputable sources.

Thank you stout for setting him straight or at least give others insight as to what's going on in the area instead of the bullshite that guy was spilling.

For an alleged Nuclear Engineer, or whatever he claimed he studied earlier, he sure acts as if the EPA laws haven't changed in 30 years.

big chemical money has so many of you brainwashed. wow just wow. the more chemical plants the less safer the state is period. you cant argue that.
if you do your just an idiot.

cali has also got rid of a nuclear reactor because the citizens proved that the place increased the number of cancer patients. after they shut down the cancer rates dropped.

Seriously?

I was flipping houses before all of those flipping shows started and they were the worst thing to ever happen to the REO market. So many dumbasses showing up at auctions with no idea of the market they were flipping in and pushed prices up to where no one could make money. In fact, that's what made me get my contractor license and start building spec houses.

The idiots that believe it is as easy as it is on TV are the same people that pay $40K to this guy to attend a seminar that teaches you nothing and in no way prepares you for the challenges of flipping.
