Taking some time off. Back is killing me. Hitting on the hard ground Saturday didn't help. Almost dropped me to my knees

Should have called me. Picking up heavy inanimate objects is kind of my thing.

hitting on the hard ground

I think its taking a toll on me as well. our "fairways" are like concrete right now. some areas are almost impossible to hit a wedge from. I am not a sweeper and you have to sweep it off this hard pan crap.

After snapping the head off my pitching wedge into a pond on ball contact I picked up last years model Vokey 46*

Must be going around. Just called my wife and told her I need to start going to the gym again. Went to the range Friday evening and played Saturday and just felt run down and sluggish after playing. Of course these damn elbow spurs I have don't help matters either.

Running a damn fever.

Already raining here.

Having a mock visit with the USGA at Starkville Country Club tomorrow for lab. That'll be pretty interesting.

Just went to the golf yoda and got my wedges bent 2 degrees flat to match the irons. He told me most people should flatten their wedges. Explains the high left floaters.

Also got the three wedges and driver re gripped with a sticky new Lamkin grip.

Huge storm hitting us now so range is inlikely

when i had all my clubs adjusted the irons were pretty consistent, but my wedges were completely different.
all irons had to be adjusted 1* or so up
wedges had to be adjusted 1* or so flatter

very important for to be as neutral as possible for wedge. that slight change helped me tremendously. would rather putt from 7 ft than 10 ft, IYKWIMAITYD

I got fitted for 2 degrees flat in my irons as well, but didn't really give the wedges a thought. Then I noticed that most of my wedges misses were pulls about 15-20 feet left of my target. I had them bent 2 degrees flat as well, and it's made a world of difference.

If you're serious about golf at all, you're doing yourself an injustice not being fitted. It's a pretty simple process, and not really even expensive when you take into account how long you'll have the information you get in that one fitting session.
