I think that saying was originally coined for vette owners and someone tried to use it on boats.

No way I'd ever sell my boat. Grew up on that boat. She's basically kept me alive over the years. When I get rid of her it will be because I gave her to somebody worthy that understands what that boat means.

But she's a sailboat so that's probably completely different from you guys situation.

My next boat will probably be a sailboat. Possibly a liveaboard. I've been shopping

Now that I don't make it down south to saltwater fish, I find myself using my 14'er with a 9.9hp boat more and more. That little boat hauls arse and I can go thru the woods without any problems. Best thing is that I can run it all week on one tank of gas.

I got a 12' w a 9.9 and love running that thing. I've been using it more than my bass boat lately.

People who say that are always the ones who get in MY boat and have to say "you know what my dad always said..."

Buddy, your dad was too broke to own a boat so why he thinks he knows shite about them is beyond me.

Whoever said that is dead wrong. My boat is one of my favorite things I own.

This, go get another one, you will feel better.

Always paid cash for mine. Still, just sitting there they can cost you money.

Absolutely love my boat. Spent this past weekend tinkering with it getting it ready for the summer. Put the batteries back in, hooked the stereo back up, New Points and belts, replaced the impellar and she is ready to drop in. Just need a good sunny weekend this coming weekend or the next and we will be skiing.

You just needed another boat, no need to sell one. I've got 4 from 18.5' to 12'

1442 with a 23 copperhead/25 2 stroke yamaha depending on the season.
Skeeter ZX22
14.5 kayak

Life is good. Soon to be a 1648 Cottonmouth for the Copperhead just so I can keep the 25 on the 1442. Boats are awesome. Anyone who doesn't think so isn't fun to be around.
