Cajuns Athletics on the Rise

Looks like the New Orleans market is taking notice of what UL has done with all of its athletics lately. I believe we are well on our way to being known as the clear cut #2 Ahtletic Program in the state behind LSU.
I'm not looking for a pissing match thread, just an honest discussion about what some of you outsiders think about our program as a whole lately. Is there any other in-state school under LSU that is even close to UL's succes in all sports right now? Much less, any one particular sport?

Its pretty obvious ULL is the #2 in the state in athletics
Elite softball program, #1 or #2 in the state, depending on the year
Great baseball program, #2 in the state
Football team is going to a bowl game every year #2 in the state
Basketball is probably #3

I posted a thread about ULL on The Rant and I got more downvotes for that one thread than I have in the rest of my time here on TD. No exaggeration.

Grats to the Cajuns on their success! I am one LSU fan that has always thought ULL should be allowed to call themselves UL. As long as they were prepared to take charge of the UL system and administer it themselves, the way LSU does for the LSU system.

ULL hasn't made the NCAA tourney as an at large since the early 80s and has yet to field a ranked football team. They take c $8 million from the taxpayers to run their program.
They barely beat Tulane in the NOLA bowl, they made the NCAA tourney because they won a low-major conference tourney and were the 3rd best team in the state after being awful the year before (I know they beat Tech, but Tech was better). Their football team is nowhere near as good as the Tech teams of 2 and 3 years ago.
But they've always been #1 at running their mouths with the least bit of success.
Prove it; show some staying power. ULL currently has the 2nd to best teams, but that's about all you can say.
